Scully discovered that Emily was actually her daughter, even though she knew she had never given birth before. Mulder admited that he knew what had happened to her all along, but had never told Scully about it, thinking that he was protecting her. Meanwhile, Scully fights for the adoption right to care for Emily, and was met with quite a lot of difficulties. But Emily wasn't doing too well at the moment, for she was dying from a mysterious disease. And to both Mulder and Scully's surprise, it turned out that Emily might be a alien-human hybrid -- one of the secret experiments conducted by the government......
