Mulder and Scully investigates a series of bizarre murder cases in which the victims' hearts were ripped out from their bodies. Mulder suspects psychic surgery was involved. But then it turns out that it was an author, who just happens to be Mulder's neighbour, and who just happens to have a crush on Scully, whose characters in his story had become reality.
