Glenn Quinn is
probably best known to American television audiences as Becky's troubled but loving
husband, Mark, on the hit sitcom "Roseanne." Suppressing his Irish accent for
the role, his performance was so convincing that few people realized he wasn't American.
Fortunately, he'll use his native accent in the role of Doyle, Angel's spiritual mentor.
Born May 28 in Dublin, Ireland,
Glenn moved to the United States with his mother and two sisters at the age of 19. Soon
after he arrived, he was spotted by casting director, Johanna Ray ("Twin Peaks",
"Blue Velvet", "Wild at Heart.") With no previous acting experience,
he won his first feature film role as Gwyneth Paltrow's boyfriend in the John Travolta
drama "Shout." Then he auditioned for and landed the role of Mark on
"Roseanne." While starring on "Roseanne," he was tapped to star in the
short-lived but critically acclaimed medieval drama, "Covington Cross." Though
"Covington Cross" had an early demise, it was probably just as well, since the
shows were produced on separate continents tough for any actor to commute! Recent
television credits include the sitcom "Jesse," and guest appearances on
"Beverly Hills, 90210" and "The Outsiders." |
