Stephen King
(Auto-theorist)
Book/s:
"Danse Macabre"
Review:
"Well, the premier essay about horror
by a horror writer is Danse Macabre by Stephen King. His writing style is
beautiful - conversational and somehow seductive. He covers books, movies,
and TV, asking why we like horror, what it does to our psyches, what goes
into a good horror story... he talks about the classics, and the stuff that
was new when he wrote it... around 1980 or so, I think. One of my favourite
King books.
Includes the classic line, paraphrased, "If
someone copies a film or book when they murder someone, they should not
only be charged with murder, they should also be sued for plagiarism."
:) Great sentiment."
