"Pinedo comes across as a true horror
fan.. So much so that you could rename this book to "Me and the Pleasures
of Horror Film Viewing". In this book she comes to terms with the uneasy
subject of the postmodern horror film (Tudor says 1960- onward = post modern
horror) and the depictions of viloence against women... Pinedo steers away
from the degradation of women, and toward societies need to express RAGE,
in uneasy times. Shes sees this as the NEED for violent horror (to keep
homicidal tendencies at bay)."
