Types Of Fusion

FUSION-WAZA

The first type of fusion was learned while in the afterlife, Goku learned a technique. This technique requires that two fighters be at equal power levels, do a silly little pose, and touch fingers with each other while yelling out "Fusion". With the threat of Majin Buu hanging over them, Goku taught Piccolo how to do the pose. After Goku's return to the afterlife, Piccolo trained Goten and Trunks to do the actual technique. Fusion not only combines the strengths of both fighters, but also gives the resulting fighter apparently magical abilities. However, the effect only lasts 30 minutes, and it takes 1 hour of recovery time before it can be used again.

POTARA KAIOSHIN TECHNIQUE

The second type of fusion can be accomplished only through the use of the Potara earrings, magical ornaments used by the Kaioshin down the ages as a secret weapon. By each donning one of a pair of these earrings, two people will be automatically drawn together into a single person, who is far more powerful than the two combined. Unlike the Fusion-waza, however, this fusion is generally permanent.

Who Has Fused

Gotenks

The Result of when Goten and Trunks complete their Fusion. Gotenks' most powerful attack is the Super Ghost Kamekaze Attack. This involves Gotenks' spitting out as many ghost of himself as he wants. Each ghost will seek out a target and explode on contact. This attack decimated Majin Buu, and it stopped Hitler's army in DBZ Movie #12. It is very devastating. Other attacks include: Renzuko Shin Shin Missiles, Galactica Donuts, and Shin Galactica Donuts (in Super Saiyan form). Another special fact about Gotenks is that he could immediately go Super Saiyan 3. Note, that Goten and Trunks had been able to go SSJ1 without as much practice/training as Gohan, Goku, Vegeta or Future Trunks needed. This surprised Gohan the most, since he was supposed to be the most powerful Saiyan on Earth. SSJ3 Gotenks easily rivals Goku's Super Saiyan 3 form in power.

Kaiobit

Dai Kaiou-Shin tells both Kaiou and Kibit to switch their Potara earrings (See Above Potara Kaioshin Techinque). And when this happened, the two of them, Kaiou and Kibit, fused permanently into Kaiobit.

Vegeto

Vegeto is probably the most powerful Saiyan combination ever. Vegeto wasn't seen much in Dragonball Z, since he could easily kill Majin Buu. Goku and Vegeta decided to fuse, using Dai Kaiou-Shin's Potara earrings, to fight Majin Buu. This was after Majin Buu had consumed Gohan. After lots of raging, Vegeta finally agreed to fuse with Goku. The fusion was supposed to be permanent, but Vegeto allowed himself to be swallowed by Majin Buu, and Buu's magic cancelled the effects of the Potara. While Vegeto undoubtedly has the same powers as Gotenks, he never emonstrated them. Instead, he relied on his greater physical strength. However, when Majin Buu consumed him, Vegeto did use a barrier shield to protect himself.

Gogeta

Gogeta is the Fusion of Vegeta and Goku, which appeared only in the Dragonball Z Movie #12. After Goku taught Vegeta the Fusion dance, and after Vegeta complained about it's sheer stupidity, they Fused; but messed up. Since Vegeta didn't do the dance exactly right, they formed into a Fat Gogeta. The Fat Gogeta was easily batted around by Janenba. Right before Janenba was going to kill Fat Gogeta, the half hour Fusion wore off and they seperated. After some help from the South Kaiou's champion fighter Paiku Han they re-Fused. This time, correctly. Janenba was than destroyed by Gogeta. According to the movie, Vegeto was more powerful then Gogeta. Probably, this is because Vegeto was created by the Potara, rather than by Fusion.

Piririn-San

This happened when Piccolo and Krillin showed Goten and Trunks the Fusion technique. He had appeared in Dragonball Z episode 249.

Gonde

Since Goku was looking at Satan to see if he should give him the Potara earrings, Goku pondered the idea of combining with Dende. He had appeared in Dragonball Z episode 268.

Gotan

When Super Buu absorbed Gohan, Goku's options were slim. Tenshinhan had been knocked out, and Goku looked around to see if there was anyone else. He had a choice between Satan or Dende. This is a image of what Gokou thinks, him and Satan would look like. He had appeared in Dragonball Z episode 268.
