General Overview:This is my favorite Deric/Maggie series. In the series, Deric is torn between his stepfather, who raised him and treated him like a real son (but is the head of the mafia), and his real father who turns out to be a cop.

In the beginning, Deric and his family is introduced. His stepfather is Tsang Kong (he also happens to be the head of the mafia in Tsim Tung). Because a fortune teller warns Tsang Kong not to go to England, Deric is sent in his stepfather's place to congratulate his stepfather's friend in the grand opening of a restaurant in Chinatown (England). In England, Deric visits his younger sister. He also meets Maggie there when he is chased by a bunch of killers and she saves him. Later, he finds out that Maggie is his sister's college friend……..

Deric also meets his real father in England. His father is Maggie's father's (Woo Fung) good friend. Deric's father is unhappy working at the police department in England, so he returns to Hong Kong to be a cop.

The mafia in England take Maggie away, believing that she is Deric's sister. Deric still saves her because she had saved him. Soon Deric returns to Hong Kong.

After Maggie's graduation from college, she returns to Hong Kong to look for a job. Her ulterior motive, however, is to find out if her dad (Woo Fung) has another wife back in Hong Kong. Woo Fung indeed has another wife back in Hong Kong. Not only does he have a wife, but he also has two sons. His sons are named Sac Ka Wing (Nathan Chan) and Sac Ka Ho in the series. Ka Wing is the more ambitious of the two. He works at a pool place. Ka Ho is a very upright and honest police officer. He ends up working under Deric's real father and they work very well together.

Deric has a girlfriend named Diane (Kitty Lai). She's a ballet instructor. Deric has problems with her because he is helping his stepfather (Tsang Kong). After a series of misunderstandings, they break up. Another guy pursues Diane and she dates him (the guy's father is a cop -Deric's real father's superior).

Anyways, Deric and his stepfather and some helpers are on their yacht one night and his stepfather kills a guy for being disloyal. Diane happens to be in a little boat with he new boyfriend, rowing away, and they lose their oars so her boyfriend tries to retrieve the oars but gets killed by Tsang Kong. Diane sees Deric and assumes that he is the murderer when in fact, he was trying to prevent the murder.

Diane calls the police and the body is recovered. Diane is very sad because she still loves Deric. She cannot stand facing him in court so she commits suicide. Deric is devastated by her death because he knows that he was the reason that she committed suicide. He ends up going to jail.

Maggie is working as a reporter.

Deric's sister comes back to Hong Kong and she falls in love with Ka Wing. However, he likes another girl.

Maggie brings Deric magazines to read in jail (his sister asked Maggie to). Maggie goes to the jail for work and sees Deric there. He thanks her for the magazines. These magazines are about stars. Maggie circles the day on the magazine cover of a lunar eclipse and Deric knows that she will be on the beach that day waiting for him.

Deric gets out of jail and goes to the beach that night. He has developed feelings for her. They meet on the beach and go on his yacht to watch the lunar eclipse.

Maggie and Deric's relationship undergoes ups and downs, mainly because Maggie is against Deric helping Tsang Kong. Later, they get into a fight and break up. Woo Fung is happy about the breakup because she wants Maggie date her doctor friend, Sung Cherc Heen.

Sac Ka Wing (Maggie's older half-brother ) ends up marrying Deric's sister because he did something to Deric's dad, Tsang Kong. Later, he helps Tsang Kong with his illegal businesses and ends up killing his own brother. Later, he gets killed by Tsang Kong.

Slowly, Deric begins to develop a relationship with his true father, Cheung Ding Bong, and this makes Tsang Kong very jealous. Deric is disgusted at Tsang Kong's attitude and treatment of others (He kills Cheung Ding Bong's girlfriend, etc ) and soon moves out. He urges his mom to leave also. Tsang Kong gives his wife tranquilizers in order to prevent her from leaving and soon she ends up in the hospital.

Maggie decides to marry the doctor in England. On the day of their departure, she decides to go to the hospital to visit Deric's mom. They bump into Deric and his real father. Tsang Kong arrives and shoots Cheung Ding Bong. He tries to shoot Deric too but Maggie saves him and she gets shot instead.

Maggie goes blind but hides this from Deric. She goes to England by herself. Tsang Kong gets captured by the police and he kills himself. Deric searches everywhere for Maggie. He goes to England and finds her there at their townhouse. He realizes that she is blind. However, he tells her that even if she is blind, she will always be his wife.
