(There's rumors on the Internet that another episode was recently released by ATV overseas but I haven't seen it yet...)

Plot Rating: 7.5/10- After watching this series, I didn't think it was that interesting. The plot dragged on and on and the series wasn't good until the second half after Kathy Chow died...

I don’t remember the details so I’m just going to talk about the main story…Also, please excuse my Chinese pronunciation…

The story starts out with Ming Goo Lang (Steven’s birth mom) having a nightmare that her baby son was stolen from the hospital. When she woke up, she took out a cut out picture of Steven, Kit Kit and herself. During the first episode we are introduced to Ming Goo Lang’s friends and relative. She has a son named Kit Kit (played by Patrick Tam) who is a cab driver in China waiting for his immigration papers to Hong Kong. He would call her on the telephone and talked to her for only one minute cause he’s cheap and doesn’t wanna pay. Ming Goo Lang also has a goddaughter that lives with her. She works in a massage parlor and has a crush on the next door neighbor’s younger son. Next door lives Gay Gor who owns a mahjong parlor and has two sons. He is also in love with Ming Goo Lang and treats her real well. The oldest son of Gay Gor is named Winston and works for a major business tycoon named Ma Sau Nam who happens to be an enemy of Steven (played by Michael Tao). The younger son is named Siu Lung (little dragon) after his idol Bruce Lee. We also find out that Ming Goo Lang is really good friends with Mrs. Lee (Steven’s adopted mom). She would attend Mrs. Lee’s birthday every year. During this year’s celebration, Steven invited all of Mrs. Lee’s old classmates to attend but was surprised to see Ming Goo Lang there. He asked Mrs. Lee why Ming Goo Lang is always hanging around and Mrs. Lee explained that Ming Goo Lang was Steven’s lie ma (a wet nurse?) who is also a really old friend. Ming Goo Lang seems really proud of Steven’s achievement and was happy to follow him around the party.

Steven and Ah Yuk (Steven’s childhood friend and right hand man) attended a benefit fashion show. The last model caught Steven’s eye. He later received an introduction and found out that the model was actually Winnie’s (played by Kathy Chow) younger sister, Ah Suet (played by Kristy Yang). Winnie was Steven’s girlfriend but broke up years ago. Steven is still in love with Winnie and vows to get her back. He befriends Suet in hopes of getting closer with Winnie again. But Steven didn’t realize that Ah Suet was starting to like him too.

Steven had to go on a business trip to China to look at some land. Mrs. Lee wanted to do some shopping in China too so they went together. Mrs. Lee invited Ming Goo Lang to go with them and Steven wasn’t too happy about having Ming Goo Lang come along, but since he wanted make Mrs. Lee happy, he didn’t say anything. When the three of them were on their way, several men with guns held them hostage. The kidnapper wanted Steven and his mother so in order to save Mrs. Lee, he went over to Ming Goo Lang and claimed that she was his mother. The kidnapper believed Steven and took both of them away. Mrs. Lee was left to walk back to civilization.

The kidnappers took Steven and Ming Goo Lang to a farm shack and locked them down in the basement. The head kidnapper ordered Steven to call back to Hong Kong and have someone bring over some huge amount of money (sorry, can’t remember the exact amount). Meanwhile, Mrs. Lee found a store and called Ah Yuk in Hong Kong. Steven also called Ah Yuk to request him to bring the money and find Mrs. Lee. In Hong Kong, Ah Yuk went to Ming Goo Lang’s house to tell her family that she has been kidnapped. Gay Gor, and Siu Lung went up the China with Ah Yuk to rescue Ming Goo Lang and Steven. When they arrived, they went to find Kit Kit. Kit Kit didn’t know that they couldn’t call the cops so him and his girlfriend Si Min had already contacted a friend of theirs that was a cop.

Over at the farm shack, the kidnapper began to suspect that Ming Goo Lang isn’t really Steven’s mother so he asked her some questions. Ming Goo Lang answered all of them correctly cause it turns out that she was really Steven’s birth mom and Steven was the son that got stolen years ago. During the time they spent down in basement, Ming Goo Lang encouraged Steven to not give up and to have faith. Steven’s amnosity toward Ming Goo Lang has also lessened. One day, Ming Goo Lang demanded to go to the bathroom so they let her out. While she was pretending to go to the bathroom, she found a wire and put it under her pants. When she got back she began to unlock the basement when no one was around. Just when Steven was getting out of the basement, the kidnappers came back and beaten up Ming Goo Lang. In order to get the kidnappers to stop, Steven agreed to pay extra money.

Ah Yuk, Gay Gor, Si Lung, Kit Kit and the cop found out where the kidnappers were hiding and were preparing to rescue Ming Goo Lang and Steven. There were shooting and only Ming Goo Lang got away. The kidnappers still had Steven. Ming Goo Lang was very upset that Steven wasn’t safe yet and refused to leave China. Steven got to make another phone to request the money be delivered somewhere else. He told Ah Yuk to tell Winnie that he loves her. So Ah Yuk calls Winnie and asked her to come to China to help find Steven. When Winnie and Ah Yuk arrives at the hotel, Winnie saw Steven in a van driving away. Steven sees her and was very emotional. Kit Kit was introduced to Winnie inside the hotel and he was smitten with her right away. He seems to forget that his girlfriend was there and just kept staring at Winnie.

Kit Kit and Si Lung got a suspicion that Steven may be at a massage parlor cause Patrick recognized the kidnapper (he once gave the kidnapper a ride in his cab). So Kit Kit and Si Lung goes to the massage parlor but Ming Goo Lang overheard and she had Gay Gor take her there. Inside the massage parlor, Ming Goo Lang pretends to work there and accidentally found Steven locked up in a storage room. Just when she untied Steven and they were about to leave, the kidnappers came back. One of them threw Ming Goo Lang onto a hot iron board so her back got really burn. Right then, Si Lung, Kit Kit and the cops arrived and most of kidnappers were captured except for the head. Steven thanked Ming Goo Lang for saving him and she said "it’s not a problem cause they are family." They all went to the hospital.

At the hospital, Ming Goo Lang had the same nightmare again where Steven as a baby gets kidnapped. She goes to his room and peeks in make sure he is okay. She spent the whole night outside his room even though there were two guards to look out for Steven. Winnie came to visit Steven the next day and told him that she only came as a friend. What they had was over years ago. Steven refused to believe that Winnie no longer loves him and stated that he will win her back. Winnie then replied that she is very happy with her lawyer boyfriend and ordered Steven to stop interfering with their lives.

Back in Hong Kong, Steven asked for some favors and got Kit Kit the immigration papers and also a job at his company, Four Seas Inc. to thank Ming Goo Lang and Kit Kit for saving his life. But Steven forgot to tell anyone in his company that he hired a new person so nobody at the office believed Kit Kit knew Steven. Luckily Ah Yuk arrived and showed Kit Kit where he was supposed to work. It turns out that his position was an office errand boy. Kit Kit was extremely disappointed cause he figured he would be at least an assistant manager and not an errand boy. Also, his co-workers all make fun of him and call him "tai look jai" (China Boy).

During this time, Kit Kit took to improving himself to pursue Winnie. He also met up with Ah Suet who turned out to be his high school classmate (it didn’t really explained how they can be from the same high school when Suet is from Shanghai and Kit Kit was from Canton). Kit Kit would often go see Winnie at her boutique after work and ask her out. Each time she would refuse and said he’s not right for her. But Kit Kit (like his brother Steven) would not give up and say one day she will change her mind.

Things have been happening at Mill Gai (Temple Street?) where Ming Goo Lang lives. Apparently some company wants to buy the block where they live to develop a shopping center. But Ming Goo Lang and Gay Gor refused to sell so their apartment was messed with. Ming Goo Lang’s house had a lot of mice and Gay Gor’s was douse with kon shui (lighter fluid/gasoline). At work, Kit Kit was asked to copy some documents. He read the documents and found out that the company behind the development project was Four Seas! Gay Gor and Kit Kit were really upset that Steven would do those nasty things to them after they saved his life. Gay Gor asked his son Winston to talk to his boss Ma Sau Nam for help.

Since Mr. Ma hates Steven, he agreed to help. They all went to dinner that night to discuss what needs to be done. Kit Kit copied the documents to give to Mr. Ma. The rest of the family got lost so Kit Kit waited in front of the restaurant. While he was waiting, a girl got out of a cab and couldn’t pay the driver cause she forgot her wallet. Kit Kit was nice enough to pay for her. Since Kit Kit didn’t want to be late, he went up to the restaurant first. He was surprised that the girl from the cab was there. It turns out that her name is Cat and she was Mr. Ma’s only child. During dinner, they plan what their next step should be and Mr. Ma kept putting Steven down. Ming Goo Lang kept defending Steven, which pissed Kit Kit off. The next day, Ming Goo Lang went to Mrs. Lee and asked her to talk to Steven into abandoning the project. Steven agreed after some arguments with Mrs. Lee.

Before Steven could tell others about his plan to abandon the project, information about it was leaked to the press making Steven and his company looks really bad. Steven had one of his assistants to look into the matter and see who leaked the information to the press. His assistant found out that it was Kit Kit. Of course, Kit Kit denied it and lied about how the documents got into his desk, but Steven didn’t believe him and so Kit Kit was fired. Before Kit Kit left Four Seas, he boasted to Steven that one day all that he possesses would become his, including Winnie. Steven then replied that Winnie has better taste and will never like a tai look jai (china boy) like him. He is welcome to try, but he will lose cause he (Steven) always wins.

Later that night, Winston took Cat to Mill Gai to see the sights. Cat insisted to see his house so Winston took her up to see his family. Winston left Cat alone in his room to listen to music while he went to go buy some snacks. Suddenly, a fire was started in Ming Goo Lang and Gay Gar’s house. Since Cat had headphones on and the music was really loud, she didn’t hear all the shouting and commotion going on in the street. By the time Cat smell the smoke, the whole house was on fire and she was trapped. After having dinner with Winnie, Kit Kit was on his way home. When he saw the fire, he thought that his mom was still inside so he rushed upstairs to save her. While he was in his house, he heard Cat screaming for help so he went next door to save her. Luckily, by that time, the firemen had the fire under control and they were saved. Ming Goo Lang was happy that Kit Kit was not hurt.

Steven and Ah Yuk saw what was happening on TV and they immediately rushed over to Mill Gai. Ma Sau Nam also saw his daughter screaming for help in a burning house on the news and immediately order his driver to take him there. When Ma Sau Nam and saw that Cat was okay, he turned his fury towards Steven. He pointed to all the reporters and said that the person responsible for the fire is sitting in that car right now. All the reporters and neighbors rushed over there to see who it is. It was Steven. Ah Yuk saw the mob and tried to order the driver to leave the area, but it was already too late. Angry people surrounded the car and Ma Sau Nam was egging them on. Ming Goo Lang saw what was happening and tried to calm the crowd. Kit Kit was upset to see his mom defending Steven again so he left to go to the hospital.

At the hospital, Kit Kit was waiting for his prescription when his mom arrived and asked if he was okay. Kit Kit replied sarcastically that he’s not Steven so why should his mom be concern about him. Ming Goo Lang seems surprised by the bitter remark and just said that they shouldn’t blame Steven without proof. Then they made up and went home.

The next day, Steven yelled at who ever it was that set the fire without his permission. Ah Yuk took off his suit and told Steven to work off his angry on him like he usually does. It seems that whenever Steven is unhappy or angry, he would use Ah Yuk like a punching bag. Ah Yuk warns Steven that there will be trouble ahead from Ma Sau Nam and Kit Kit.

Since Steven fired Kit Kit, he went to work for Ma Sau Nam instead. His position is manager for the development department. Kit Kit was very happy with his new position cause he will be in charge for all new development projects in China.

It was Winnie’s lawyer boyfriend’s birthday party. He had won a big case earlier that day on a rape charge. His client was proved innocent even though everyone at the party knew he was not. The victim’s family crashed the party and accused him of setting free a guilty man. They cursed him and said he will have "bo ying" (karma). Winnie asked him if it was true, and he couldn’t deny it. Winnie was upset and ran away.

Later, the boyfriend showed up at Winnie’s boutique with a little girl and told Winnie he did it for his daughter. His ex-wife was suing him for custody and he needed a large amount of money to win. He knew the man was guilty but he was willing pay a high price for his freedom. The boyfriend said he did for the money so he can be with his little girl. He then went on to tell Winnie how awful his ex-wife was to their daughter. Winnie believed his story and forgave him.

Several days later, the ex-wife went to the boutique and asked Winnie if they could talk. Winnie refused at first, but the ex-wife said that she would regret it if she didn’t hear her side of the story. They went to a café and the ex-wife proceeds to tell Winnie her side of the story. Apparently, Winnie’s boyfriend wanted a son, but when the baby turned out to be a girl, he was furious with his wife. He had met another woman and wanted a divorce. When the ex-wife wouldn’t grant him a divorce, he threatened her with the baby. She finally agreed cause she didn’t want him to hurt her daughter.

Winnie found out that was true and broke up with the lawyer. Winnie later found out that Steven had paid the ex-wife to tell Winnie the truth. He also helped her immigrate to Canada so that the lawyer won’t be able to get his hands on the kid. Winnie was furious with him and told him once again to stay out of her life. Steven argued that he was protecting Winnie from harm and claimed that he did it because he loves her. But she still didn’t forgive him.

There was a charity ball with a special guest from China (sorry, but I forgot what her name is). She is this high powerful businesswoman with government connection. She has a crush on Ah Suet. At the ball, Steven and Kit Kit was fighting over Winnie. Winnie was still pissed off with Steven so she used Kit Kit to make him jealous. She asked Kit Kit to dance and then asked Kit Kit to take her home later when Steven offered. In the car, Kit Kit asked for a good night kiss and since Winnie knew that Steven was in the car behind them, she let Kit Kit kiss her cheek. Steven was extremely furious. He vowed to get back at Kit Kit for daring to touch what belonged to him.

Meanwhile, Siu Lung and Siu Ling’s relationship develops and they realized that they are in love with each other. They make plans to marry so Siu Ling won’t have to work at the massage parlor anymore. Because Siu Lung needed the money for the wedding, he agreed to help Kit Kit transfer some illegal cargo from China to Hong Kong. Unfortunately, during the process, a rival gang in China killed Siu Lung. His body was never found. Kit Kit felt extremely guilty but lies to cover his own ass. He told his mom and Gay Gor that they went up to China to close a business deal for Ma Sow Nam and that Siu Lung was robbed and killed while they were there.

Kit Kit continues to pursue Winnie. Winnie apologizes to Kit Kit for using him that night at the ball and expresses again that she has no interest in him what so ever. Winnie saw an article in the newspaper stating that Jodie Foster got pregnant by artificial insemination. She became very interested and told her sister that she needs to leave for America for a few days. While she was gone, Kit Kit and Steven got into a huge fight and Kit Kit pulled out a gun. Ming Goo Lang and Mrs. Lee were there and they tried to break up the fight. When Kit Kit aimed the gun at Steven, Ming Goo Lang stepped in front of the gun to protect Steven. Kit Kit felt betrayed and left. Later, Ming Goo Lang told Kit Kit that she did it for his own good. That she didn’t want him to go to jail. Kit Kit didn’t look like he believes her but forgave her anyway and told her that the gun was fake.

Steven had Ah Yuk look all over the place for Winnie and they finally tracked her down in America. Steven immediately flew over there and consulted with a doctor. Winnie came back from the US and announced that she is pregnant. The father is unknown since she got pregnant by artificial insemination. Everyone was surprise, especially Kit Kit. He told Winnie that if she wanted a baby that badly, he would have volunteer. Winnie explains that she didn’t want a father for her baby, that way the baby would be all hers to love and cherish. Kit Kit was happy for her and volunteer to be a godfather. Winnie accepts.

Winnie and Ah Suet’s mother decided to remarry so they both went back to Shanghai to meet their new stepfather. It turns out that the man is a few years younger than their mother is so Winnie disapprove. She thinks that the man is only with her mother for money and not love. Winnie later approves of the man when she accidentally spied them together in a loving moment. Steven showed up at the wedding and announced to Winnie that he is the father of the baby she is carrying. Winnie didn’t him at first, but Steven told her that her doctor who performed the surgery was an old schoolmate of his. Winnie was extremely angry with Steven for interfering in her life again and vowed never to forgive him.

Kit Kit also found out that Winnie was in Shanghai so he left a very important business meeting to chase after her knowing that Steven is there also trying to woo Winnie back. But Kit Kit was too late. After talking to her mother and sister, Winnie decides that she was still in love with Steven and always would be. Steven, not knowing that Winnie was already won over, got down on one knee and proposes to her at the pier in front of a huge crowd. He confesses his wrong doings, but all that he had done was for the love of Winnie. Winnie finally forgave him and accepted his proposal. They had a very passionate kiss in front of the cheering crowd. Kit Kit heard all the noise and turned in that direction. He saw them kissing and knew he lost. He was very depressed and left Shanghai.

When he got back to Hong Kong, he got yelled at by Ma Sow Nam for missing that client meeting but luckily, Winston was there to save the client. Kit Kit decides to concentrate on his career right now. His reasoning is that when he becomes powerful and rich like Steven, then Winnie will choose him. Since Cat already has an interest in him, Kit Kit decides to use her to gain control of Ma Sow Nam’s company. He starts dating Cat while giving Winston advice on romance. Winston had start to think that Kit Kit likes Cat also, but after confronting him and having Kit Kit reassure him that he would never betray their friendship by going for Winston’s girl, Winston believed Kit Kit.

At Steven and Winnie’s wedding ceremony, Kit Kit showed up at the church and tried to interrupt the ceremony. He was thrown out and Steven placed a call to someone and asked them to kill Kit Kit. At the restaurant, Winnie received a call on her cell phone from Kit Kit. He is threatening Winnie with a suicide attempt if she doesn’t see him. They all left and rushed to where Kit Kit was standing on a ledge off the rooftop of his apartment building. His mother, Ming Goo Lang tried to talk him out of it but didn’t succeed. Steven couldn’t care less and was really piss off cause his wedding was interrupted again. He told Kit Kit to just jump and get it over with. Steven and Kit Kit had a blazing argument. When Kit Kit was about to jump, Steven’s mom burst out that they are real brothers. Kit Kit and Steven both didn’t believe her. Steven’s mom retold what happen and Kit Kit was even more piss off now cause he believed that he should have been in Hong Kong living the high life instead of in China fighting for his survival. He didn’t understand why Ming Goo Lang lied to him all these years. Kit Kit grab Steven onto the ledge with him and said they are both gonna die. Kit Kit jumped holding onto Steven and they both fall to the ground.

Luckily, the police and firefighters had enough time to prepared and had set up a cushion on the ground to break their fall. Both were rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, Ming Goo Lang tried to explain to Kit Kit why she did what she did but Kit Kit ignored her believing that she loves Steven more than him. Ming Goo Lang wanted to go back to Kit Kit’s apartment to pack some things for him. Winnie volunteer to drive her there. When they got there, Winnie saw how tire Ming Goo Lang was so she went up to pack for Kit Kit while Ming Goo Lang took a nap in the car. What they didn’t know was that Steven had someone turn on the gas at Kit Kit’s apartment and when the gas is mixed with oxygen, there would be an explosion. So when Winnie went inside and smelled the gas, it was already too late. The whole place exploded and Winnie died still wearing her wedding dress.

Ming Goo Lang had the unlucky job of breaking the news to Steven back at the hospital. When Steven heard, he was furious with her and blamed her and Kit Kit for everything that’s happen. Ming Goo Lang just sat there and took it. Kit Kit overheard and blamed Steven for Winnie’s death. A fight between them started with each blaming the other. The person hired by Steven called and demands their money for finishing the job. Steven yelled at them asking them what they mean cause Kit Kit was still alive. The person responded that they made Kit Kit’s apartment explosion and a body was found so they assumed it was Kit Kit’s. At this moment, Steven realized he was the one that caused Winnie’s death. He started crying.

Steven refused to talk to anyone or eat anything for weeks. Everyone thought he was suffering from grief over Winnie’s death but he was also suffering from guilt as well. The only person who knew was Ah Yuk. Nobody could snap Steven out of his depression. Soon, his company was taken over by Kit Kit and Ma Sow Nam. By the time Steven snapped out of his depression, it was too late. He had to declare bankruptcy. Steven promised Kit Kit that he would come back and take back his company. Kit Kit just laughed in his face and dared him to try.

Kit Kit has now decides to destroy Steven and take what is rightfully his. Part of his master plan is to woo Cat and take over Ma Sow Nam’s company. He was successful and got Cat to agree to marry him. Winston was very hurt by Kit Kit’s betrayal and resigned from the company. Ma Sow Nam gave his blessing but warns Kit Kit not to hurt his daughter otherwise; he’ll regret it.

Kit Kit, Ming Goo Lang and Cat moved into Steven’s mansion. Steven’s mother passed away. Cat and Ming Goo Lang are having trouble getting along. Especially since Kit Kit had asked Cat to keep an eye on Ming Goo Lang’s whereabouts. Steven decides to forgive Ming Goo Lang and accepted her as his mother. He moved into Ming Goo Lang’s old house and lives with Ming Goo Lang’s goddaughter. Steven got a job at a bank and is living the quiet life. Ah Suet continues to hint to Steven about her feelings for him. Cat is pregnant.

Kit Kit slowly took over Ma Sow Nam’s company. He’s using the company as a front for his illegal operation with Mainland China. Ma Sow Nam was too busy trying to become a politician to care about his business. He even hired a campaign manager to help his public image. By the time Ma Sow Nam realized what was happening, it was too late. Everyone at the company listens to Kit Kit now and Ma Sow Nam has lost his power. He went to Steven for help, but Steven is enjoying the quiet life and doesn’t want to get involve. Kit Kit found out that Ma Sow Nam is suspecting him so Kit Kit came up with a plan to put Ma Sow Nam out of the picture. Kit Kit started an affair with the campaign manager and got her to sleep with Ma Sow Nam. Ma Sow Nam was very drunk so he doesn’t remember what happened. The next day, the campaign manager went to the police and reported that Ma Sow Nam raped her.

Ma Sow Nam was furious and went to confront her at her house. Outside, he heard Kit Kit’s voice and wonder what he was doing there. After hearing Kit Kit and the campaign manager’s conversation, Ma Sow Nam realized that they planned to take over his company and are having an affair together. Ma Sow Nam rushed in which resulted in a fight with Kit Kit. Kit Kit threw him off the building and landed Ma Sow Nam in the hospital with a coma. Kit Kit lied to the police and said that he was defending the manager from Ma Sow Nam’s attack. Kit Kit’s affair became known to his wife and his mother. With Ma Sow Nam in the hospital, Kit Kit had a board meeting with all the stockholders and took control of the entire company. Cat has a miscarriage after having an argument with Kit Kit’s mistress. Kit Kit yelled at the campaign manager but forgives her and said he never really wanted the baby in the first place. Ming Goo Lang yells at her son for his treatment to his wife. She is now taking care of Cat and her father at the hospital. Cat is slowly losing touch with reality.

Ma Sow Nam woke up from his coma after a visit from Steven. With the help of Ma Sow Nam’s right-hand-man, he was transferred to another hospital and was declared insane by his new doctors. Steven, Gay Gor and Winston opened up a stockbroker firm on Mill Gai. When Kit Kit found out, he competed with Steven for an up and coming stock. Steven won. Kit Kit was more upset at losing to Steven than losing the money. Kit Kit also have a problem with the company cause it is legally still in Ma Sow Nam’s name and since Ma Sow Nam is declared insane by his doctors, Kit Kit can’t get the name changed.

Steven accepted Ah Suet and they start dating. Their little company is doing really well so Steven wants to move the office to the financial district. Kit Kit also decided to branch out and started his own company. He opened his office in the same building as Steven and also on the same day. On opening day, only a few people stop by to congratulate Kit Kit. Kit Kit was piss cause no one showed up, not even the press. He yelled at the campaign manager and asked her why no one is showing up. One of the guests finally told him that it is because everyone is at Steven’s opening instead of his. Kit Kit went to crash Steven’s office and realized that it was true. Everyone important was there having a great time. It turns out that Steven’s uncle returned from his travels and asked all his old buddies to support Steven and not Kit Kit. Steven went up to Kit Kit and told him to give up now because he’s not going to win. Kit Kit refused and said this is far from over.

Meanwhile, Ma Sow Nam got in touch with his daughter and realized that his daughter fades in and out of reality. Ma Sow Nam vows revenge and told his daughter during her moments of clarity that not to give Kit Kit their combination to the main safe at the company. Cat promised. In order for Kit Kit to get more control of the company, he needs to get some information that is in the company’s safe and the only people who know the combination are Ma Sow Nam and Cat. He went to Ma Sow Nam first, but Ma Sow Nam pretended he was crazy so Kit Kit went home to ask his wife.

Cat was out of it again and was hugging a stuff animal like it was her newborn baby. She wasn’t paying attention to Kit Kit at all and was just mumbling to her baby. Kit Kit got frustrated with her and took away the stuff animal. Cat got all crazy and started to attack Kit Kit with a fruit knife. During the struggle, Kit Kit accidentally stabbed Cat in the stomach with the knife. Ming Goo Lang came home just in time to witness this and tried to stop the struggle but was too late. Cat died. Ming Goo Lang told Kit Kit to leave the house immediately. Kit Kit was shocked; he looked at his mother’s frantic face and rushed out of the house. What they didn’t know was that Ma Sow Nam was still at the house and saw the whole thing.

Ming Goo Lang cleaned all the fingerprints from the house and placed her fingerprints on the knife and then called the police. She was arrested for the murder. Steven and the rest of the gang was shocked and refused to believe that Ming Goo Lang killed Cat. Steven hired a lawyer for her but she refused to confess. She told Steven that she had always loved him and wished him the best. Ming Goo Lang went to trial and was found guilty for the murder. Kit Kit thought he got away with the murder but Ma Sow Nam with the help of Steven hired his own lawyer and told the police that he saw Kit Kit kill his daughter not Ming Goo Lang. She only confessed to protect her son. Kit Kit started to panic and called some people and told them kidnap Ma Sow Nam so he can’t go to the courthouse on the day he’s suppose to testify. Luckily, Ma Sow Nam got away and was able to testify.

Kit Kit still thought he was cleared because he still had his mistress as an alibi. But, she is cheating on him with another rich businessman and Kit Kit caught them together. He started yelling at her and her response was that he is now nothing and she moved on to someone with more power and money than he did. Kit Kit was furious and slapped her. She told him he was gonna regret that. The next at the trial, she told the judge that she was forced to lie earlier because Kit Kit threatened her. He was never with her that night until much later. That at the time of Cat’s death, she has no idea where Kit Kit was. This means that Kit Kit is now a prime suspect for Cat Ma’s murder.

The rich businessman turned out to be one of Steven’s college friends. Steven had asked him to make Kit Kit’s mistress fall for him so she will betray Kit Kit for him. Steven thanked him for making it work.

Kit Kit knows he’s going to be tried for the murder so he hinted at his mother that if she’s no longer alive, he can’t be accused for the murder since the court can’t try for the same murder twice. He told his mother that for once, can’t she do something for him instead. Ming Goo Lang told him that he got everything all wrong, that she has always loved him the most and not Steven. Kit Kit told her to remember the time when he saved her from the police so she can have a good life in Hong Kong while he got captured and stayed in China. Ming Goo Lang nodded and with tears in her eyes asked Kit Kit to change and not have this hatred for his brother any longer after she leaves. Kit Kit didn’t answer her and left. For the next few days, Ming Goo Lang said all her good-byes and during the night, committed suicide in her cell. They rushed her to the hospital but it was too late, they couldn’t save her.

Even with Ming Goo Lang’s death, the prosecutor still wanted to bring Kit Kit to trial and charge him for murder. Kit Kit didn’t want to go to jail so he kidnapped Ah Suet. Kit Kit made her drive him to his get away spot. Steven caught up with them and warns Kit Kit that he can’t get away so he should just give up. After some fast chasing, an accident occurred and Ah Suet crashed the car. Both her and Kit Kit ended up at the hospital with serious injuries. Ah Suet needs some type of transplant and there wasn’t any donor. Steven visits Kit Kit at Kit Kit’s request. Kit Kit is dying so he wants to make amends with his brother. He asked for Steven’s forgiveness and wished they could’ve been real brothers instead of enemies. Kit Kit told Steven that he wants Ah Suet to live so he’s willing to donate whatever is necessary. Steven forgives him and for a minute, they were true brothers. After receiving Steven’s forgiveness, Kit Kit passed away.

Ah Suet was saved after the operation and in recovery. Her mother found a diary of Winnie’s and gave it to Steven to read. After reading it, Steven realized that he’s still in love with Winnie and can’t forget her. He wrote a letter to Ah Suet explaining his feelings and said he needs time to get away. After reading the letter, Ah Suet broke down in tears.

Several years passed, Ah Suet was in Shanghai with Ah Yuk doing a fundraiser. At the hotel lobby, an elevator opens just as Ah Suet was walking away. It was Steven. The elevator door closes with them staring at each other.

**Note: Due to the unhappy responses of Hong Kong viewers, another ending was created for ATV to satisfy its viewers. Supposedly, the second ending had Steven ending up with Ah Suet and Siu Lung not dying. He later returned to Hong Kong and reunited with Siu Ling. Everyone lived happily-ever-after.
