Jacqueline grows up in a household with her mother, brother and younger sister. She wants to go to college but her mom is against it, thinking that girls don't need such a high level of education. While helping her mother one day to do some work , Lam Yan ( Jacqueline Law ) was late to sit for her university entrance exams and fails to enter a university. Because of this she is forced to join a fashion company run by "Luk Fuk On".

To make matters worse , Lam Yan's best friend Yuen Kit Chong ( Fiona Leung Pui Ling ) fell in love with Lam Yan's boyfriend Fong Hou Ming ( David Siu Chung Han) . Lam Yan after finding out about it was very hurt and felt betrayed because two of them happen to be very close to Lam Yan ( one is her best friend and another one is her boyfriend ) . She can do nothing about it when Kit Chong married Hou Ming when she is pregnant with his child .

While working in the fashion company, Lam Yan also got to know Keung Soon Ling ( Jaime Chik Mei Chan ) . Soon Ling always guided Lam Yan , giving her encouragement and trained her to become a very good fashion designer . Lam Yan, meanwhile, is very grateful for Soon Ling's help and thought of Soon Ling her as her teacher and benefactor .

Unknown to Lam Yan her neighbor Kwan Hok Man ( Leon Lai Ming ) has always been in love with her . But since they practically grew up together Lam Yan always take Hok Man as her brother and Hok Man who is quiet-natured kind of person never dare to express his feeling to Lam Yan.

In the course of their work, Soon Ling met a famous photographer Ha Chou Yam ( Simon Yum ) . Since they see each other most of the time , they fell in love . Unfortunately becuase of some things Soon Ling and Fuk On never see eye to eye on certain things and thus split partnership with Fuk On . Together with Lam Yan , Soon Ling open up her own fashion designing company with the encouragement of Chou Yam . Because the nature of their job , Lam Yan and Chou Yam also spends lot's of time together and developed some mutual liking .

Fuk On who is still angry with Soon Ling for spliting up the partnership wows revenge and manage to make her company run into financial difficulties . Soon Ling who is stubborn and have a never-give-up-attitude no matter what , sacrified her virtue by sleeping with some big names in exchange to save her company for going bankcrupt . Chou Yam founds out , breaks off with her and fell for Lam Yam instead.

Soon Ling, whose career and love, was destroyed blames Lam Yan and plots revenge and wants to hurt Lam Yan's family ( mother , sister , brother ) . During the mist of chaos and troubles in her family , Chou Yam ask Lam Yan to leave with him to Africa on assignment and hinting to her if she don't go it will be the end of their relationship ..... Lam Yan is torn between love , career and family . What will Lam Yan choose ? Whom will she end up with Chou Yam or Hok Man ? What happen to Soon Ling ? Watch for yourself ......
