Episodes 1-2

The first 2 episodes were rather uneventful...I thought the series was gonna be a little scary but it's not...

The very beginning of the series talks about the history of the theater and the ghost stories associated with it. Apparently, the theater is built on a funeral home and was known to be haunted...therefore, business was bad.

Esther Kwan lives with her younger brother (Dai Lik from Kindred Spirit), and her fiance's (Cheng Zhi Sing) relatives. They rent a room in an apartment. In the beginning, Esther sold squid outside the theater. However, her friend, Tong Ying Ting, worked at the theater selling tickets and soon pulled her in. (Her boyfriend, played by Cheng Zhi Sing, didn't want her selling stuff in the streets. He was a seaman...)

However, Esther wasn't too enthusiastic about the job because she was really scared of ghosts. The ladies' room in the second floor was known for being haunted by the female ghost.

The owner of the theater, (Na Dook from Kindred Spirit) had an wife who was dead. It was rumored that she was one of the ghosts that haunted the theatre. The owner's present wife was very bossy and she forbade all talk of ghosts. However, Esther ran into the owner one day while she was burning incense in the theater...he scared her and she accidentally knocked something over and I think that was how the ghost Yuen King Dan was released. The owner asked her to tell him if she ever saw any ghosts because he wanted to see his dead wife...he really missed her...Esther did give him a call and when the owner's wife heard about this, she fired Esther. Esther was desperate to keep the job so she begged the manager to help her. He finally gave in but she had to overlook the responsibilty of closing the theater every night. Poor Esther...she was so scared to go alone every night and close all the doors by herself. One time, she found a cop to help her.

The owner was sick of listening to his present wife and felt that he had no one to talk to so he called his son, played by Lawrence Ng, in the US. Lawrence was a manager in some bank overseas.

One night, the ghost (Yuen King Dan) followed Esther home and went into the body of some of her family members.

Episodes 3-6

The next 4 episodes were a lot more interesting. The series is picking up and it's pretty good right now.

Yuen King Dan went into the body of Esther's future father-in-law (who's kind of crazy...). He went into the landlady's room to watch tv and she was really pissed when she found out. She kept her door locked from then on...

Lawrence returned from the US to visit his family. His dad asked him to stay and help take care of the family business and he finally agrees after seeing how much his dad has to put up with (ie. his stepmom and half-brother's attitudes)...His stepmom's niece, played by Mah Tai Lo (May May in Kindred Spirit) has a crush on Lawrence and its sooooo funny. Every year when he comes back for a visit, she dresses herself up and puts on an overdose of make-up. Everyone at the theater was cracking up, especially Esther and her friend, Tong Ying Ying.

A few days later, Yuen King Dan went into the body of Esther's future mother-in-law (Chu Mi Mi) and started acting funny again...she insisted on going into the landlady's room to watch tv and Esther realized that something was wrong...she realized that it wasn't her future mother-in-law at all but a ghost. Yuen King Dan spoke through the body and told Esther her name. She insisted on watching her soaps and wanted to knock the door down. Esther didn't want to get in trouble with the landlady so she stood there and blocked the door but Yuen King Dan (in the body) knocked Esther over and broke the door down to watch tv. Then she ordered Esther around, telling her to bring her food and fan her. Poor Esther, she didn't know how to handle the ghost...

Lawrence was trying to make changes in the theater to make it better but everyone didn't want changes for fear of upsetting the rumored ghosts in the theater. Lawrence was extremely upset that his employees believed in something they never even saw before. One night, when Esther was closing the theater, she ran into Lawrence and scared herself half to death because she thought it was a ghost. He invited her out to for a midnight snack and asked about the theater and the people and why she was the one closing the theater every night when it wasn't her responsibility. Esther told him everyone's nicknames and Lawrence got a good laugh.

The ghost (Yuen King Dan) was becoming more of a hassle and Esther didn't know how to make it leave. She went and asked the cleaning lady in the theater for help and Esther tried burning incense to appease the ghost and ask it to leave but the ghost still returned a few days later when her soaps were on again =)

Esther heard news on the radio that her boyfriend, Cheng Zhi Sing's, ship sunk in the ocean so she hurriedly went to the shipping company to ask about him. The representatives there said that she needed to know his name spelled in English in order to find news about him. Esther didn't know what to do so she ran downstairs and begged people in the streets to help her translate his name but no one would help her. Lawrence drove by and saw her like this so he helped her and Esther found out that her boyfriend was okay. Esther was very thankful. However, Lawrence missed an important appointment because of this.

Esther had no idea what to do about the ghost so the cleaning lady said there was one last tactic she could use to get rid of the ghost...the ghost went into her future mother-in-law's body again that day and Esther grabbed her hands and tied a red string around her. This was supposed to scare the ghost into leaving and it did but Yuen King Dan got upset and caused havoc in the household that night. The ghost went into all the bodies of her family that night and started doing weird things like singing and dancing. Esther finally agreed to let the ghost stay and they became friends.

Yuen King Dan (the ghost) said that she used to work for Lawrence's dad...but she did something bad to Lawrence so she was afraid of seeing him. The ghost told Esther that she could appear in her own "form" soon and wouldn't have to use others' bodies. Esther told her to give her a warning when she did so she wouldn't get scared. Finally, Yuen King Dan appeared in her own form and Esther wasn't too scared although she did hide under her covers the first time.

The family was beginning to suspect a ghost in the house when they saw Esther talking to herself and burning incense. They kept on insisting that they wouldn't be scared and Yuen King Dan overheard all this so she popped out and they were all freaked out. The landlady came home and saw a ghost floating and fainted. They all ran into her room to hide. Esther went in and tried to explain to them. However, the ghost wanted to watch tv so she went into the room and they got scared again and went scrambling into the closet and under the bed.

A few days later, the whole family was still really scared...the ghost came out and told them her story of how she died and what she did to Lawrence that made her afraid of seeing him now. Many years ago, she worked as a maid in Lawrence's house and took care of him. However, one day, she met a man and he tricked her out of all her savings and she was forced to borrow money from the loanshark. The money had to be returned soon and she couldn't do anything about it so she asked Lawrence to help her steal money from his dad and asked him not to tell his dad. Well, Lawrence got in big trouble with his dad and Yuen King Dan left to find the man to get her money back...however, she was worried about Lawrence and about the money so she accidentally fell into the ocean and died...When the family heard that Yuen King Dan used an innocent little boy (Lawrence), they weren't scared of her anymore, and instead, started ordering her around the house and making her do chores and helping them cheat the neighbors when playing mahjong.

Episodes 7-8

I think I'm seriously bored of watching tv b/c these 6 episodes didn't seem very interesting...

Yuen King Dan and Esther were becoming good friends now. The whole family has also accepted the fact that they now have a ghost living with them.

Mah Tai Lo was still making no progress trying to get Lawrence to like her.

Lawrence wanted to expand the business of the theater so he decided to try out some American comedies. He wasn't enjoying the movie that was being played and thought it was rather "mo liu" (stupid/boring) and was considering not purchasing it but then he saw Esther outside and told her to come in and watch with him and see what she thought of it. Esther laughed so hard that she started choking so Lawrence gave her the glass of honey water that Mah Tai Lo made for him. When Mah Tai Lo came in and saw that Esther was drinking from the cup, she threw a fit. Lawrence decided to take a risk and buy the movie. Mah Tai Lo dumped a glass of water all over Esther.

The American film brought in very high sales for the theater and Lawrence's dad was very proud of him. Lawrence decided to ask the theater workers for their opinion next time. He treated Esther out to dinner in a high-class restaurant to thank her. This made Mah Tai Lo really jealous.

A few days later, Mah Tai Lo decided to accuse Esther of stealing money. However, her plan was unsuccessful. Tong Ying Ying went home and told the ghost (Yuen King Dan) that Mah Tai Lo was picking on Esther so she decided to teach her a lesson. When Esther went to work the next morning, she saw Mah Tai Lo scrubbing the floors in the bathroom...actually, it was Yuen King Dan--the ghost--that was in Mah's body. Yuen King Dan (in Mah's body) told Esther that as a child, Mah had been very mean to her and cut her hair one time while she was sleeping...Yuen saw Lawrence sleeping in the office so she walked in to touch him on the head.

The manager of the theater (who is also the man that Lawrence's stepmom is having an affair with) hadn't been able to take advantage of his position recently since Lawrence came back. His friend told him that he'd pay him if he bought his films. To ensure that Lawrence would purchase these low-quality films, he paid off the other workers in the theater...However, he excluded Esther and Tong Ying Ying, knowing that they were on Lawrence's side. Therefore, when the time came, they said the film was good even though it wasn't.

Yuen King Dan followed the manager and found out he was taking money from the film companies. Therefore, she went and told Esther who in turn told Lawrence. Lawrence set a trap for them and found them all guilty. He was very disappointed in them but decided not to fire them, hoping that they wouldn't do these things in the future.

Lawrence started a class which taught all the theater employees English. The governor of HK and his wife (who are British) wanted to view a film in the theater. Lawrence asked Esther to take care of the governor's wife during the film. Everything went well until Yuen King Dan went into Mah Tai Lo's body again and starting dancing on the stage and flung her shoe out which hit the governor in the head. Yuen did this to punish Mah because she tried to give Esther a drink with laxatives in them. Lawrence got really angry and Mah got really scared because she had no idea what was going on and the others were scaring her saying that a ghost took over her body.

Lawrence was very disappointed because he hoped things would turn out better. Esther tried to console him and they went to the beach together. After kicking the waves, Lawrence felt better and began to realize that he liked Esther.

Episodes 9-10

Mah Tai Lo was freaked out since the "dance on stage" incident. She believed there was a ghost in the theater so she locked herself in her room and refused to go to work. Lawrence thought she was making excuses for herself but when he went into her room and saw her behavior, he was beginning to believe there was a ghost. His stepmom overheard and hired a person that worked in a temple to do some of those rituals to capture the ghost. When he went to work that day, he asked Esther about the ghost and she finally admitted there was a ghost. Lawrence thought the ghost was his mother but Esther told him it wasn't but refused to say anymore.

That night, Lawrence told his dad that Esther saw the mom's ghost. Lawrence's dad went to work with him the next day and saw his stepmom there with the temple guy. His dad got very angry and slapped the stepmom. Lawrence's dad begged Esther to let him see the ghost and she finally gave in and brought them to her house. Yuen King Dan refused to come out but then when Lawrence's dad refused to leave and started kneeling, she finally gave in and came out. She told them that Lawrence's mom had reincarnated many years ago already. Lawrence's dad was kind of disappointed. Lawrence and Yuen talked about the past and they were really funny.

Lawrence took Yuen King Dan and Esther bicycle-riding and they had a lot of fun. He hurt his hand and Esther wrapped her hankerchief around it. Lawrence went and bought her a new hankie at the department store.

Esther was sick so she didn't show up at work the next day. Lawrence went to visit her and the family told him that she went to the phone company to call Cheng Zhi Sing. Lawrence went to find her there and overheard her talking to her boyfriend. He was sad and decided not to give her the hankerchief. Yuen saw all this and told Lawrence to tell Esther about his feelings but he said that he didn't want to interfere...as long as she was happy, he'd be happy too...

Lawrence gave out reward money to all the employees at the theater to thank them for their hard work. Esther was thrilled and decided to buy a new bed for Cheng Zhi Sing, who would be returning soon. She dragged him to the store and bought an exprensive mattress. It was a real obstacle dragging the bed back home...

The day finally came when Cheng Zhi Sing returned. Esther couldn't find a cab so Lawrence offered her a ride. Cheng seems very conceited. He doesn't appear to like Esther a lot or treat her very well.

Cheng Zhi Sing went out for tea with a friend the next day and we find out that he was fired. He wants to start a business with his friend.

Lawrence got a call from one of his employees in Macao who told him that they found the whereabouts of Yuen King Dan's boyfriend--the one who tricked her out of her money. Lawrence and Yuen went to Macao to find him. She hid in his umbrella (this part was kindda funny because she was shaking, so the umbrella started shaking really hard and Lawrence said people were staring at him.) They finally found the guy and realized that he was married but he wasn't home that day. The neighbor told them that he was at a club so Yuen and Lawrence went to find him. Yuen started punching and kicking him but then she realized that it wasn't even him...she hit the wrong guy--a guy with the same name.

While Lawrence was staying at the hotel in Macao, he found out that the manager from an American film company was there too. Therefore, he wrote a proposal for her (Poon Chi Lee), hoping that they could work out a business plan.

Cheng Zhi Sing told Esther that he was short $1000 for his business. She decided to go to work and borrow the money. Lawrence lent her the money.

Cheng Zhi Sing went to a restaurant to eat with his prospective big clients. When Cheng took out his wallet to pay for dinner, they saw a picture of Eileen and Cheng Zhi Sing. Esther saw that it was raining so she brought him an umbrella and he yelled at her instead.

Episodes 11-12

Esther ran home and cried. Yuen saw that she was unhappy and came out to talk to her. When Cheng went to apologize to her, Yuen was still standing there and she hit him =) He thought that Esther hit him. Esther quickly accepted his apology.

Poon Chi Lee took Lawrence's proposal to the CEO who decided to accept it. Therefore, Poon stayed in HK to work out the details with Lawrence. Since Poon Chi Lee was from the US, Lawrence took her around HK as her tour guide.

Eileen ran into Cheng Zhi Sing again. Apparently, they met in Spain and Cheng likes her. It appears that she comes from a rich family. Cheng was bragging that he has an office in "Chung Wan".

The first movie that Lawrence and Poon's company are working on is a Cleopatra movie. Everything was going well until Lawrence's stepmom got some people to burn down the room that stores the movies. Therefore, the 2 middle parts of the movie were burned. Luckily, Poon was able to get the company's copy from Singapore shipped to HK in time. The movie was a huge success.

Cheng took Eileen out to dinner. She gave him a gold watch.

Cheng was looking for an office space. He found one but the landlord changed his mind and decided to rent it to someone else. Cheng went home very angry when he found out. Seeing that Esther was sad because of Cheng, Yuen King Dan decided to help her. She went over to the office and appeared in her ghostly form without her legs and scared the guy into not renting the place.

Lawrence's dad praised him for doing such a great job with the theater but urged him to find a girlfriend. Yuen went to Lawrence's dad's study and talked to him. She told him that she'd help bring Poon and Lawrence together...Lawrence went to the jewelry shop to buy Poon Chi Lee a present as a way of thanking her for helping out the last time with the Cleopatra movie. Yuen showed up at the jewelry store and told Lawrence to buy the jade bracelet (Lawrence's dad told Poon that giving someone a jade bracelet means that you like her). Lawrence didn't listen to her and instead bought pearl earrings...but Yuen switched it to a jade bracelet and when Poon received the gift, she was very happy and kissed Lawrence. Lawrence found out what the jade bracelet meant and went to explain to Poon that the bracelet held no significant meaning and he apologized to her.

Poon baked Lawrence a cake for his birthday and told him that she liked him and asked if they could be together. Lawrence told her that he already liked someone else.

The next day, a production crew was supposed to show up to film a commercial. Lawrence was angry because the theater hadn't been cleaned up yet. Poon showed up to oversee the shooting of the commercial. The theater employees bought Lawrence a cake to celebrate his birthday but he yelled at everyone. However, when Esther walked in, his tone changed and he thanked everyone for the cake. Poon saw this and suspected that Lawrence liked Esther.

Poon invited Lawrence to lunch and told him that she was going home to Singapore. She gave him back the jade bracelet.

Cheng Zhi Sing bought a ring. Yuen saw the ring and assumed that Cheng was going to propose to Esther. She popped in Lawrence's office at the theater while Lawrence and Esther were talking and told her. Lawrence appeared sad...

Episodes 13-14

Yuen King Dan and Esther went home and Yuen told the entire family the good news and they were all thrilled. When Cheng came home, they all surrounded him and he appeared really confused. He announced to the family that he was moving out by himself and they realized that they made a mistake. Esther is disappointed and feels that Cheng has been treating her differently since he came back.

Cheng invited Eileen over to see his new apartment and gave her the ring. Cheng's mom walked in and heard a female's voice but Cheng pushed her out and told her that he'd explain later. He told his mom that he liked Eileen now and that he had no more feelings for Esther. Cheng's mom told him that Esther would make a good wife and that she took care of them while he was gone...Cheng refused to listen to her though. Cheng's mom felt very guilty when she returned home.

Yuen King Dan felt that something was up so she went into Cheng's mom's body and went to Cheng's house to question him. She followed him to a club but couldn't get in because there were religious statues up...Cheng's mom knew that Yuen went into her body and wanted to protect her son so she gave him these religious items and posters.

Eileen is dating Lawrence's younger brother also. Cheng saw them together and got really jealous. Eileen told them that she'd date whoever won a speeding race. Cheng wanted to borrow Lawrence's car so he went to sweet talk Esther. He lied to her and told her he needed the car to pick up an important client at the airport. Esther went to borrow the car for him and Lawrence said it was fine.

When Cheng arrived, Lawrence's younger brother recognized the car because it was his and humiliated Cheng. He threw a fit when he got home and yelled at Lawrence for lending his car out.

Lawrence finally couldn't control his anger anymore and told Esther the entire story. Esther went to find Cheng and he told her that he wanted to break up with her. Esther left. The whole family found out and they were all angry at Cheng. No one could find Esther.

Lawrence couldn't sleep that night. Yuen King Dan went to find him and told him that Esther was missing. Lawrence found her on the beach and tried to console her.

Yuen went into Cheng's mom's body and started to hit Cheng Zhi Sing in public. Then she switched over and went into Cheng's body and made him kneel in public and hit his own head. Cheng was confused when he woke up.

The people at work treated Ester extra nice.

Eileen found out that her family was on the verge of bankrupcy and owed a loanshark a lot of money. Lawrence's brother went to ask Lawrence for money but Lawrence told him that it wasn't worth lending to them based on their reputation. Cheng tried to help her too. In the end though, she chose an old guy who helped her family.

Lawrence's brother and Cheng started hanging out after this and were becoming friends.

Yuen encouraged Lawrence to go after Esther.

Cheng was having business troubles. One of his biggest clients wanted to break a contract with them because their shipments weren't punctual. Cheng broke off with his partner too. Cheng thought that Lawrence was the culprit behind his client breaking off so he went to Lawrence's house and beat him up. Lawrence's brother dragged Cheng away.

Episodes 15-16

They went to a bar and Lawrence's brother asked Cheng to join his smuggling business.

Esther found out that Cheng beat Lawrence up and went to apologize to him.

Cheng bought a new house and asked his parents to move in with him. He accused Esther of liking Lawrence and gave her money to make up for all that she's done for his family.

Lawrence asked Esther for a change...She quit her job the next day. Lawrence was sad and decided to give things a rest.

Lawrence found out that his brother was smuggling illegal medication and and storing the medicine at the theater. Lawrence told his brother to move the crates out of the theater but their father found out and took all the medication. Lawrence's brother got really angry and left home. Cheng found out that all their medication was gone and got angry also. They decided to borrow money from the loanshark. However, their medicine was found by the police and Cheng had no money to return to the loanshark so they took his house.

Esther opened up a small street stand to sell flowers. Esther's brother and Tong Ying Ying started dating.

A co-worker at the theater was getting married and invited everyone. Lawrence saw Esther there. The next day, he went to visit her at her flower stand and tried to talk to her. Just then, someone was riding a bicycle and hit almost hit them. Lawrence pushed Esther away and injured his leg and arm. He was taken to the hospital. Esther went to visit him and he was thrilled. He only kept her flowers and asked the doctor if he could stay longer... =) Yuen told Esther to give Lawence another chance and she decided to not visit him anymore and sent her brother instead.

Lawrence left the hospital and went to see Esther. He asked her for a chance. Esther told him that she was still recovering from Cheng and didn't want to get hurt again. She started crying. Lawrence told her he wouldn't bother her anymore...Lawrence went to the US to see a film festival and visit friends.

Cheng and his parents were forced to move into a bad neighborhood. He was drunk all day and his mom had no choice but to go to pawn items so that they could continue living there. Cheng's father was sick and there was no money to take him to the hospital.

Cheng went back to Esther's house, thinking that he left behind a gold necklace. The landlady and Tong Ying Ying were all annoyed upon seeing him. Cheng was drunk and he started throwing a fit when he saw his mom and Esther arrive home together. His mom had asked Esther to help her take Cheng's father to the hospital. Yuen came out in her ghostly form to scare Cheng...who started running...

Lawrence's stepmom refused to give his dad his medication. She threatened to stop all medication unless he gave her power over the company...

Episodes 17-18

Cheng's mom explained Yuen King Dan's past to Cheng. He called Lawrence's brother out to ask him about Yuen. Cheng was seeking a job as a seaman again. He was looking for a job in a small town overseas that was owned by an Chinese person by the name of "Mok Bo"--the guy who took Yuen's money...Cheng did a little background check on "Mok Bo" and even got his picture. He asked his mom to call Yuen out so that he could talk to her. Cheng promised to take Yuen to "Mok Bo" if she would promise to go into Lawrence's dad's body. Yuen was reluctant to do so but in the end she gave in. Cheng conspired with Lawrence's brother and stepmom to take over the business...he wanted 20% of everything. They agreed. Yuen went into the body and signed a new will giving the stepmom authorization to control the company funds.

Later, Cheng captured Yuen's spirit into a windchime.

Lawrence's stepmom took over the company and fired Lawrence.

Tong Ying Ying went home and told everyone about this news. Esther was confused as to why Lawrence's father would something so irrational. Meanwhile, they haven't seen Yuen for a while and were beginning to worry about her.

Lawrence rushed back from the US and took his father to a hospital. He went to the family lawyer and asked what he could do. The lawyer promised to do all that he could. Lawrence and his father moved out...he returned home to get his mom's nameplate (???have no idea what you call these thing's in English...in Chinese it's "sun chu pai"). His stepmom threw it out and Lawrence got really angry. During the confusion, Lawrence accidentally pushed his stepmom's boyfriend over and she called the police so Lawrence was arrested.

Tong Ying Ying and Esther's brother went to visit Lawrence's dad and tried to find Yuen there but coouldn't find her. Esther went to visit Lawrence's dad also...she cooked him some food.

Cheng took pictures of Lawrence's stepmom with her boyfriend...then he showed them to Lawrence's brother who knew nothing about this. He got pissed and decided to help Cheng Zhi Sing. They had enough stock to take over the company...

Lawrence was released from jail...Lawrence's dad frequently went to visit Esther at her flower stand to talk to her. Esther and Lawrence became friends again.

Lawrence was trying to go into the film industry again but Cheng was interfering.

"Mok Bo" came back to Hong Kong and went to the theater. Tong Ying Ying brought him to Lawrence's house and "Mok Bo" was happy to see Lawrence's dad again. He found out that Yuen King Dan became a ghost and wanted to see her again.

Poon Chi Lee came back to HK. She was having business problems with Cheng and wanted to cooperate with Lawrence again. He had enough money but Cheng came up with a different proposal and Poon was forced to give the contract to Cheng. Esther consoled Lawrence upon hearing this.

Cheng hired a ghost buster to destroy Yuen forever. However, the plan went haywire when Cheng's dad took the windchime over to Esther's house. Esther saw the windchime shaking so she brought it to Lawrence's home. "Mok Bor" got angry that Cheng captured Yuen's spirit so he went to the theater to beat him up. Lawrence held him back. Outside the theater, the cleaning lady stopped Esther and told her that she could help. The cleaning lady told them that dripping the blood of the person who loved Yuen the most on the windchime could save her...so they used "Mok Bor's" blood and saved her.

Yuen wanted revenge on Cheng Zhi Sing....she felt bad that she caused so much trouble. She went to find Cheng but he warded her off with these religious things that ghosts were afraid of...

Episodes 19-20

The cleaning lady helped Esther and Yuen King Dan think of a plan so that Yuen could approach Cheng Zhi Sing again. Her plan was to stick a religious yellow paper under Cheng's chair which would destroy all the yellow papers he had in the theater. The plan worked and Yuen decided to seek revenge on Cheng by scaring the audience in the theater. She scared people in the bathroom and soon this news of the theater having ghosts was all over the newspapers. Business became bad in the theater as all the people were scared of ghosts. Lawrence told Yuen that she shouldn't have done that because he didn't want the theater's reputation to be ruined. In frustration, Cheng fired all the employees in the theater and tried to hire new people but no one wanted to work in a haunted theater. Cheng decided to sell the theater and move the sewing business from Macao back to HK. Lawrence went to talk to Poon Chi Lee about her company's contract with the theater.

With the help of "Mok Bor", Lawrence had enough money to buy the theater back. He decided to ask a third person to do it. Lawrence successfully repurchased the theater and on the opening day, Cheng showed up with flowers that you would normally bring to a grave. Esther and the rest of the people told him to get lost.

In the beginning, business in the theater was still bad. Lawrence thought of a new plan...to add to the atmosphere in the theater by showing ghost movies. They advertised with a "come watch if you dare" attitude. This new marketing strategy was a success and the seats in the theater were full everyday. As a way of encouraging the employees, Lawrence treated them out to dinner and in the restaurant, he saw his brother drunk. Lawrence felt bad and Esther encouraged him to better his relationship with his brother by caring more for him.

Meanwhile, Cheng's business is getting worse and worse. During the meeting, Lawrence's younger brother told Cheng that he wanted to sell his stock no matter how worthless it was. He wasn't gonna hang around and let Cheng boss him around. Likewise, Lawrence's stepmom and her boyfriend wanted to sell also but after hearing that the price of the stock had dropped 80% already, they decided to reconsider.

Lawrence found out that his brother was in the hospital after getting into a car accident while driving drunk. Lawrence went to see him and realized that his brother had changed a lot. The two had a long talk and Lawrence asked him to go baack and work in the theater. Lawrence's brother felt bad because his mom had betrayed the family.

Cheng was encountering more problems. Clients were cancelling contracts and the sewing machinery was breaking down.

Lawrence's younger brother went to work in the theater and he did a great job...Lawrence and his dad were both proud of him.

Celine Ma Tai Lo came back to HK from Macao and went to visit Lawrence. She told him that she was getting married soon. Lawrence was happy to see that she had grown up a lot.

Cheng returned home drunk one night and got angry at his dad. He vent his frustrations on his parents and even slapped his dad. He left the house with his assistant.

"Mok Bor" and Yuen were outside taking a walk near the theater. They saw Cheng show up with his assistant and he told the assistant to burn the theater down. The assistant refused to do so and quit his job. Yuen decided to teach Cheng a lesson so she went into his body and burned down his sewing company instead.

Lawrence went to find her and found out that Esther went back to China for her great uncle's birthday. He went out to lunch and told Poon. He seemed upset that she didn't even tell him. Poon noticed his distress and told him that perhaps it was time to let go...Lawrence decided to go to Singapore so that he could expand the theater business. Esther came back from her trip and Yuen told her this news. Esther still couldn't decide how she felt about him.

Lawrence and Esther had dinner the night before he was to leave. The situation seemed a bit awkward during dinner...Lawrence got a call from his brother and had to leave.

Later that night, both went to the beach but they didn't see each other. They both heard someone singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and wished that they were with each other..."Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" was their song...

Lawrence left his house the next morning. Esther finally realized that she loved him and went to find him. Downstairs of Lawrence's house, Cheng was waiting for him and he beat him up and hit him over the head with a big bucket...Esther arrived later and saw blood on the ground and people saying that the bad guy was caught. She found out it was Lawrence and rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, Lawrence's family was there already. Before the doctor went in, he said that Lawrence would probably have amnesia even if he was saved. Poon Chi Lee tried to comfort Esther. The doctor came out and told them that Lawrence died. All rushed in...Esther was especially sad...

Cemetary: Esther wanted to stay after everyone left. She sat there and sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to herself. Yuen went to see her and tried to comfort her. Esther told her that she wanted to wait for Lawrence's spirit to come back and asked Yuen to help her find him.

A few days later, Yuen still hasn't come back with news of Lawrence...Esther's very sad and sits around the house all day. Lawrence's brother went to find Esther and gave her a box which contained photos and the hankerchief that Lawrence bought for her. Esther started crying again.

Yuen came back and told Esther she couldn't find Lawrence. However, that he should show up on the 7th day after his death, as all spirits went home on the 7th day.

Cheng was sentenced to life in prison. His parents went to visit him in jail...he still hasn't changed.

"Mok Bor" wanted to treat everyone to dinner as he was returning home soon. He told Esther that he wanted her to keep his shares of stock in the movie theater. Because Yuen had solved all her worries, she had to go and get reborn.

Celine had a talk with her aunt, Lawrence's stepmom. Her boyfriend tricked her out of all her money so she had very little left now. However, she was too ashamed to return home.

On the 7th day, Esther went to his house to wait for him and Yuen stayed by her side but he never showed up. Esther went to ask the cleaning lady the next day so that she could help her. The cleaning lady helped her "open her eyes and ears" so that she could see and hear spirits. Since Lawrence was a new ghost, she wouldn't be able to see him. She also told Esther which direction to go in...all ghosts moved in the same direction. Esther finally found him but he didn't remember her or even his own name. He was surprised that she could see him. He had amnesia. Esther told him that she loved him and went to find him that morning but he seemed very confused...Esther cried because she realized Lawrence would never know how she felt about him. Esther's powers wore out and Lawrence left...

Esther's brother and Tong Ying Ying, Yuen, and the landlady were all worried about her and asked her how things went. She told them that Lawrence had amnesia. It was time for Yuen to leave. All bid her farewell. She was worried about leaving Esther in this state but she had no choice...it was time for her departure.

Lawrence and Yuen were both in line to be reborn. Yuen dragged him out of line and asked him if he remembered anything but he said he didn't. Since there was a few hours left, she dragged him to the theater and back to his old house to try and trigger his memories but nothing worked. Finally, they walked back to the beach and Lawrence heard 2 kids singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and remembered everything. Lawrence went to find her but Esther was sleeping and she couldn't hear him. Then she appeared to get up and they talked to each other...Esther told him that she loved him and asked him how she could live without him. Lawrence was happy that Esther loved him. He gave her the jade bracelet to express his love for her and kissed her...Esther woke up and realized that she was dreaming...however, she looked down and saw her jade bracelet. She realized that Lawrence had been there............

What a sad ending huh? This series didn't have a really great plot but the artists did a great job. It was a "fresh" series. I haven't seen a ghost series from TVB in a while. The ending left me feeling a little depressed =(
