The long awaited UE2 finally started broadcasting while I was in HK. I got up to episode 8 and in my opinion, part 2 seems to be better than part 1.

Episodes 1-8
After waiting patiently for 9 months, Flora finally returns to Hong Kong. Initially, she was returning to Hong Kong for her sister's (Chan Mei Kei) wedding but because the flight was delayed, Flora didn't make it back in time. Bowie was very disappointed.

In the 9 months that had passed, not too much has changed. Lee San San is dating a stock broker played by Marco Lo Hing Fai. A few new people have been added to the series. Hawick Lau (best known to us as On Jai of Kindred Spirit) is now the coroner's assistant. A lawyer (don't know his name) has also been added. Gabriel Hoi Jun Kit plays a model and his sister in the series, Chan ??, is Lo Man Kit's new co-worker.

The first case that we come across is a murder case. The body has been dismembered and the police do not know anything because only the middle area has been found. The legs, arms, and head are still missing. The case is passed to Flora because the original coroner had to leave the country. Hence, Bowie sees Flora for the first time in 9 months. They didn't get into much of a conversation before they are called to the scene because an arm is located. They finally pinpoint the identity of the dead female and realize that she's a model so the investigation gets underway.

Flora tries to avoid Bowie at first. However, she twists her leg during one of their on-the-scene seaches and Bowie brings her some ointment for her leg that night. Flora meanwhile was sitting in her house going through her e-mails and realized that Bowie had sent her one e-mail each night for the past 9 months. They have a talk and decide to get back together. Although Flora is back together with Bowie, she's still worried about Lee San San. One night, she and Bowie bumped into San San and Marco at a restaurant. When Bowie and San San went to the restroom, a middle aged woman came up to Marco and kissed him. Marco brushed it off as nothing and made up an excuse, but Flora was beginning to suspect something.

After some more problems, it's finally revealed that Marco Lo is a pimp. He was having an affair with that middle-aged woman, who was giving him money. However, he really did like San San and was going to break up with that woman. That night, he was chased by men hired by the woman's husband. At the hospital, San San broke up with him.

At home, San San revealed to her father that she still liked Bowie. The next morning, her dad goes to find Flora and has a talk with her and tells her to leave Bowie. Flora, not knowing what to do, begins to avoid Bowie and tries to break off their relationship by being rude to him.

The case is finally unraveled and its revealed that a married man who was having an affair with the model, killed her because she told his rich wife about the affair. In addition, the model wouldn't leave him alone and he was getting fed up with her.

The next part was about Margaret's friend "Ah Mieu" (whom we met in part 1). She gets raped by the owner of a health club but she loses the case in court and becomes somewhat mentally unstable. Because of her friend, Margaret gets into arguments with her boyfriend, Lo Man Kit because she thinks that he isn't being considerate enough.

Bowie decides to go on a short vacation so that Flora might "worry" about him =) Right after he left, his team received a picture in the mail of a dead Bowie in the bathtub. Worried, his team members start to investigate the origin of the picture, while trying to contact Bowie. Flora is worried, but tries not to show it in public. At home one night, she sees the same pose in an art book and brings it to the police station. Bowie comes back and is confused but then he sees the picture. They found out that there were fingerprints left on the picture and begin to investigate the identity of the person. The person turns out to be someone who Bowie put in jail a few years ago for running his teammate over with a car.

San San finds out that her father was the reason for Bowie and Flora's problems and she tries her best to get them back together. However, she's unsuccessful.

The man who's seeking revenge on Bowie soon places prank calls on his family. Bowie arrests him but is unable to press charges against him. Soon the man ends up dead and Bowie is accused of the murder because a witness saw him arguing with the guy before he died. He's taken off the case and placed on probation. His teammates try their best to arrest the true murderer and the story soon unravels…A few years ago, Bowie was placed on a case where a man was murdered and $6 million was stolen. However, only $1 million was recovered even after they arrested the man found guilty of the murder. The man committed suicide in jail. His wife's name was "Chai Mun". She kept on going to the police station claiming that her husband only took $1 million and didn't kill the guy. However, the police didn't believe her. As it turns out, the guy who took the other $5 million and committed the murder was the man who was placing prank calls on Bowie. When "Chai Mun" found out, she devised a plan to frame Bowie and kill the man who indirectly made her husband die. In the end, the truth came out, and Bowie was off the hook.

More info was revealed about Hawick Lau and his brother-in-law in the series, "Wong Ying Kit", the lawyer. Apparently, Hawick's older sister was married to the lawyer, but his sister ended up missing. For some reason, Hawick really hates his brother-in-law but the audience isn't told the entire story yet.

In order to get Flora and Bowie back together, San San asks Hawick to pretend to be her boyfriend. She also tells her dad to tell the truth, that he was the reason why Flora started giving Bowie the "cold shoulder". Flora and Bowie finally make up and they go to his house for dinner.

The next case that evolves is about Margaret's friend "Ah Mieu". "Ah Mieu" is still pissed at the guy that raped her and she went to the health spa and wanted to hit him with a vase, but ended up hitting Gabriel Hoi Jun Kit instead. The police were going to press charges against her but Margaret begged Gabriel and he agreed not to sue her. A few days later though, the guy who raped "Ah Mieu" ends up dead. Thinking it was "Ah Mieu" who committed the murder, the Bowie's team go to find her. The only problem is that she's dead already. Although it appears to be suicide, Flora finds out that it's really murder…

First, I'd like to correct a mistake I made in the beginning of this summary…Flora Chan did come back to Hong Kong to attend her sister's wedding. I previously wrote that she didn't make it back in time. Sorry about that…I'm forgetful..heeehee

Episodes 9-18
The investigation for "Ah Mieu's" death goes underway. Lo Man Kit finds a broken fingernail on the bed, which turns out to be a very important piece of information. Margaret is very sad because one of her best friends has died. She and Lo Man Kit slowly begin to drift apart-she kind of takes out her frustrations on him. Gabriel Hoi Jun Kit is accused of the murder and his sister, who works at the lab, is taken off the case. At a pub, Gabriel and his sister run into Margaret and her friend. Gabriel Hoi Jun Kit consoles her.

Margaret and her friend find out that the murderer is "Ah Mieu's" boss' son because she remembered that he had a long fingernail but later on saw that it was broken. He is captured and admits to raping and killing her during a fit of insanity.

The case about the first guy who raped "Ah Mieu" is still not solved yet. The murderer is still on the loose and Bowie's team is pretty confused. They start investigating several other people including the rapist's partner (this guy who owns half of the health spa), a beauty pageant contestant, and this lady who owns a modeling agency.

The lady who owns a modeling agency was quickly eliminated from the list as a potential murder. Then, Bowie's team discovers evidence that points the murderer to be the rapist's long time business partner. According to tests that were conducted at the laboratory, the murderer was someone who had AIDS. Therefore, Bowie's team believed that it was the rapist's business partner. However, all this was cleared up when DNA tests were done since the DNA did not match to the killer's. After investigating some more, the team learns that it was the beauty pageant contestant. Apparently, the beauty pageant contestant went back to the health spa that night to pick up some things she forgot. When she was about to leave she witnessed the guy that raped Margaret's friend injecting drugs into himself. Unfortunately, the guy also sees her and pulls her into the room. He tries to rape her, but she hits him over the head with a trophy that was on his desk and accidentally kills him.

During the course of the investigation, Flora and Bowie's relationship changed for the better. They made up after San San forced her dad to confess that he tried to break them up. In addition, Bowie moved in with Flora. The only problem was Bowie's stepmom, who still held a grudge against Flora for not showing up to dinner the first night.

Margaret and Lo Man Kit's relationship was beginning to get a little strained. Her personality seemed to have changed from part 1. Margaret wanted Lo Man Kit to become more independent and make his own decisions. Therefore, she felt that they were beginning to drift apart. In the end, she broke up with him and Lo Man Kit was kind of down for a while. Cherie Chan, Gabriel's younger sister, played a small role in their break-up. She wanted to play a joke on Lo Man Kit because they always argued at work, but ended up contributing to their break-up.

For those of you who have seen Untraceable Evidence 1, you should recall that when Flora was in college in England, she met this guy who she fell in love with. However, the guy never told Flora that he was married. One day, the guy's pregnant wife goes looking for Flora asking her to leave her husband. Eventually, Flora leaves the guy, but the guy still loves Flora. A couple of years later, Flora encounters the guy and his son in Hong Kong again. The guy expresses that he still has feelings for Flora. Not long afterwards, the guy's wife comes back to discover that her husband accidentally killed her son and later on her husband is also murdered. This is basically where the third case picks up. Flora's ex-boyfriend's wife has come back to seek revenge for her husband and son's death. She wants Flora dead. First, the guy's wife threatens Flora by sending her a box containing a bomb, but Flora wasn't able to pick up the box at the post office, so Simon Lo Man Kit offers to pick it up for her and opens it. The bomb explodes. Simon Lo Man Kit and Lee San San's dad are hurt. Now, we can see that Bowie's stepmom dislikes Flora even more. (Margaret Chung wants to visit Lo Man Kit at the hospital, but decides against it so she tells Flora to offer him her "Get Well.") Next, the guy's wife tries to run Flora over with her car, but misses. Then, she starts stalking her. Bowie's arrests her but has no evidence to point that she did all these things. Therefore, she was released. Upon her release, she escapes from (Bowie's) the team's watch and captures Flora by holding her captive. Clearly, we can see that the guy's wife has gone insane. She ties Flora to her car and pours gasoline over it. Just as she was about to throw the cigarette lighter at the car, Bowie and his team arrive and arrest her. Although, her ex-boyfriend's wife was caught, Flora was left with the feeling of guilt. She thought she held a big responsibility for the deaths of her ex-boyfriend and his son.

Margaret's biological father makes his appearance in the series. His family died in an accident and he came back to Hong Kong by himself. By some sort of fate, he met Margaret on the street and they became friends (they both don't know their relationship yet).

The next case involves the family that Margaret's stepfather works for. The family consists of the father, his 2 wives, their 3 sons and a daughter-in-law. The oldest son had died a few months ago, but as of right now, it seemed to be an accident.

The case started when the third son was kidnapped and held for ransom. The second son was ordered to pay the ransom. The ransom money was paid and Bowie's team followed the case but the kidnappers ended up getting away with the money because the kidnappers had wired the car so that part of the bottom of the trunk would fall and the suitcase of the money would drop out when the driver stepped on the accelerator. The second son felt really bad because of this. That night, the second son died in his home. It appeared to be suicide at first, but after Flora's report, it was a questionable death. (I'm not too sure of diabetes terminology but this guy had diabetes and he died from an overdose of suger intake from his insulin shot.) After the case was solved, it was discovered that the godson of this rich family had plotted all the murders because he needed money. However, the godson ends up being murdered and so another case unravels. The godmother killed the godson because he was the one responsible for her son's death (the one who died at a few months ago).

Gabriel comes back from a modeling assignment and he starts dating Margaret. Flora and Bowie's relationship is fairly stable but his mom still doesn't like her very much.

The next case involves the deaths of Margaret's biological father and stepfather. Chan Mei Kei (Margaret's mom) finds out that Margaret has been seeing her biological father and gets really angry. She and her husband go to find him and she leaves her cell phone there by accident. Her husband offers to go and get her phone, but he never returns home. The police find him dead the next morning at Margaret's biological father's house and her dad is missing. A few days later, Margaret's real dad's body is found also. As we later find out, apparently, Margaret's real dad is really rich and he leaves her everything in his will. Margaret's biological uncle hears about this and he's really pissed off. Apparently, he and his mistress plotted to kill Margaret's dad for his money, but unfortunately, Margaret's stepfather showed up to get the cell phone and witnessed the murder and therefore was also killed. Margaret's uncle also tried to kill her so that he could get the money, but Bowie's team captured him and his mistress.

After the deaths, Margaret goes on vacation with her mom. She also goes to the US to bury her dad.

This next case is about Flora's old college friend, played by Cheng Zhi Sing. Cheng has cancer and therefore, has bought life insurance. He ends up being killed. The murderer was his mistress and his mistress' boyfriend.

Episodes 19-20
The last case in the series is about Lee San San. She has married Choi Zhi Keen, the lawyer in the series. The case goes on to reveal how the body of Hawick's missing sister (Choi Zhi Keen's ex-wife) is found and Choi is suspected of murder. After investigations, Bowie's team finds out that Choi Zhi Keen's ex-wife had an extra-marital affair and both she and her lover were murdered seven years ago.

Choi Zhi Keen's older brother, Liu Kai Chee, was beginning to suspect an affair between San San and Bowie and this caused many problems between the newlyweds. When San San loses her baby, problems get even worse because she told Bowie that she was pregnant but didn't tell her husband. A few days later, San San ends up dead (she was supposed to be in the hospital but left the hospital to go and see her husband). Choi Zhi Keen is suspected of killing San San and Hawick tries to plant false evidence against Choi because he strongly believed that Choi was responsible for the deaths of his sister and San San. He was caught when Cherie Chan found out that there was too much evidence in the lab. We aren't really told what happened to Hawick besides the fact that Bowie is pressing charges against him. I guess we can assume that he ends up in jail because of this.

In the end, we find out that it was Liu Kai Chee, Choi Zhi Keen' s brother, who was responsible for the murders. He killed San San because he was drunk and accidentally revealed to her that he killed Choi Zhi Keen's first wife. Later, he tried to kill Flora and Bowie too, but ended up shooting his brother.

Bowie and Flora both felt somewhat responsible for San San's death. Bowie moved back to his own house and their relationship started to have problems. Flora decided to leave HK at the end but Bowie caught her just in time and had a talk with her. He showed her the video that San San taped right before she died where she claims that she loved her husband the most.

Flora and Bowie showed the video to Choi Zhi Keen at the hospital. The last scene shows Flora and Bowie at San San's grave.

This series started off pretty well, but I think the ending was rushed and the last few cases weren't quite as interesting. The only relationship which seemed complete was Flora and Bowie's. All the supporting actors and actresses could definitely use more development in their characters and relationships. All in all, this was a pretty good series, but I had higher expectations…
