Turbulent Decade (Wong Kam Sup Neen) is one of my favorite series from the mid-80s. Not only does it have an excellent cast, but it has a great storyline. In my opinion, this is Eddie Cheung's best series. Unfortunately, I don't own this series anymore, so I can only give a general overview because it's been a while since I've watched it.

General Overview
This series takes place through a series of many years. In the beginning of the series, Carina and Jamie are still in high school and they are best friends. Carina comes from a rich family and she's an only daughter. Eddie C.'s father is a cop. He lives with his mom, dad, grandmother, and uncle. Jamie's family is ok, but later her mom goes crazy. Bobby and Eddie K. are cousins. Eddie's family has many children. Bobby later on becomes a lawyer. Sek So plays the villain in the series.

Wong Kam Sup Neen starts off when this group is still in high school. Eddie C. and his friends Bobby and Eddie K. meet Carina and Jamie by chance. Eddie C. likes Carina and soon they start dating. Meanwhile, Jamie (sort of) dates Alex To Tak-Wai but she likes Eddie C. However, Jamie is very unhappy because of problems at home. Her mom and dad are constantly arguing. Eddie C. is there to comfort her and she becomes pregnant with his baby.

Carina finds out that her best friend is pregnant and confronts Eddie C. Eddie C. feels responsible for the baby and wants to take care of Jamie. However, Alex also finds out that Jamie is pregnant with Eddie C's baby and they go out for a "talk". Eddie K. goes with them. Alex and Eddie C get into a fight and Alex accidentally falls down the stairs during the fight and dies. Eddie C. ends up going to jail because of this.

Jamie is devastated that Eddie C. has to go to jail. However, she also feels bad for Alex's mom who thinks that she is pregnant with Alex's baby. Jamie ends up losing the baby when she goes to visit her mom at the psychiatric ward of the hospital. Jamie tells Alex's mom that the baby was not Alex's. Perhaps it was a sort of fate, but Alex's mom forgave her and Jamie became her goddaughter.

While Eddie C is in jail, Bobby goes to law school and becomes an attorney. Eddie K. is less successful (I don't remember the exact details of his story but he did work in a bank for a while). Carina finishes college and works for her father. Jamie becomes a secretary. Later, Eddie K and Bobby both work for Carina's dad. In jail, Eddie C. meets Sek So, who is a cop that works at the jail. Sek So encourages Eddie C. to continue with his education and he does, earning very high grades. However, when he comes out of jail, he still cannot find a job.

He opens up a factory with Dicky (Dicky is the son of Eddie's uncle's girlfriend, played by Di Bo Lai). Their factory is very successful. In the meantime, Jamie meets Sek So (she’s his secretary) and they fall in love and get married. Sek So also happens to know Carina's dad and he soon ends up working for Carina's dad. He accuses Eddie K of wrongdoings in the company and Eddie K. gets fired, even though Bobby tries to help him (Bobby has become Carina's godbrother. Her dad really admires him). Eddie K. marries Seurng Tin Ngo (who is Eddie C's cousin). She is the very bossy type.

Eddie C. falls in love with Margie and they get married. However, she is soon killed by a crazy man. Sek So, on the other hand, has an affair with Carina. In reality, he only wants her money. Jamie is devastated by her husband's affair with her best friend. Carina goes to jail for embezzlement after being set up by Sek So. Sek So is killed by the mafia.

At the end of the series, Bobby marries a lawyer, Eddie C. and Jamie are together again, Eddie K. is with Sheurng Tin Ngo. Carina comes out of jail, hoping to be with Bobby (who has always been in love with her), but in the end, she is still the lonely one.

I really love this series. It had a really great ending.
