This is a story of four women and the struggles they go through in their marriage and family life and in their search for the man of their dreams. Kenix, Siu Wai, Jan and Alvina all work for the same company and are all good friends who support one another (Jan only becomes their good friend later on).

The first story is about Kenix's family. Kenix is married to Cheung Kwok Keung and has a daughter and a loving family. However, this is all destroyed when her husband has an affair with a woman. This woman has mental problems and goes to Kenix's house to work as a tutor for Kenix's daughter. She puts medication in Kenix's food which makes her very anxious all the time and causes her to have nightmares. This woman also tries to take over Kenix's role in her family. Later on, she kills Kenix's mother-in-law, mistaking her for Kenix. In the end, she takes Kenix to an isolated area and tries to kill her again, but her husband gets there in time and saves her. Kenix is very upset when the truth comes out and divorces her husband. Her husband and daughter leave for the US. Kenix is later with Mui Siu Wai's brother.

The next story is about Mui Siu Wai. She is married to Gabriel Hoi Jun Kit. However, there marriage life is not very good and her husband also has another woman, Angie Cheung Wai Yee. When Siu Wai wins the lottery her husband tries to kidnap her for the money. However, she gets kidnapped by Ho Po Sang and his friend instead. Ho Po Sang is actually not a bad person but he was wrongly influenced by his friend and he needed the money for his dad's hospital bills. Ho Po Sang later releases Siu Wai but her husband tries to kill her. Ho Po Sang saves her life (because he's beginning to like her) and Siu Wai is very grateful to him. Siu Wai is with him at the end...

The story of Jan Lau's is very much like the Julia Robert's story in the movie "Sleeping With the Enemy". Jan Lau's husband, Marco Ngai, was an abusive husband who always beat her. Therefore, Jan fakes her own death and assumes a new identity in order to escape her husband. This was why she was always so secretive in the beginning. Well, her husband goes to Hong Kong and meets her friend Alvina Kong. He doesn't like her very much but soon decides to marry her. Then he finds out that his wife is still alive and tries to kidnap her. However, Jan's boyfriend (who is also Kenix's brother in the series), Ken Chan rushes after them. Ken gets shot and Jan is still in Marco's hands. However, she is able to escape and Marco dies.

The last story is about Kong Yun Yin. She apparently has a twin sister in a Vietnamese refuge area. Alvina gets hit in the head and the two end up switching places because Alvina gets amnesia. Alvina's twin sister is an evil person. Her mom finds out that she is the twin and wants to tell authorities and the twin ends up killing her. Later, Kenix suspects something so she follows and twin and sees her burying the mother's body. The twin tries to kill Kenix too, but her husband (who has returned to Hong Kong because he wants to be with her again) saves Kenix and Alvina's twin is badly injured. Before she dies, she tells them that Alvina is at the Vietnamese refuge area.

Although the male cast in this series was not that great, the storyline was fairly unique and the series was very interesting.
