Hi, just wanted to tell you that this fic gets dark very quickly. So if you're looking for a mushy love story this isn't it, if you're looking for something that'll make you laugh you got the wrong URL, but if you're looking for something new and completely different from all other fics then read on my friends.

The Prophecy (Rated G)
It was hard to believe, hard to imagine, hard to even dream of, but that was what the prophecy said.
********In the year of the millennium, a new slayer will be called, but not by the council. Vampires, demons and people will be portrayed. Once you see all of this, you will not know what exists. A vampire with a soul will be her watcher, to her he'll be no more that an actor. A new generation will rise, of what is real and what seems not.********
Yeah, it was weird. Everyone in the slaying business had come together. The year was 1998. Buffy, Willow, Xander, Cordilea, Giles, Faith, Angel, Wesley, Oz, Jenny, even Spike, Drusilla and Darla were there. That interesting group should give you an idea of how important the prophecy was.
"So what's it saying?" Faith asked.
"There is a generation, our generation, which will have, well, sort of...
"Doubles." Darla finished for Giles. "So what should we do? I mean if I have a double, I want to get to know him." Xander suggested. "They're not doubles... Miss Edith knows all about it." "Is my pet having a vision? Come on, talk to daddy" "They're people, actors, there are going to be movies made about us all." "Ok, why should we agree with you, `cause in case you don't notice, we're mortal enemies?" Buffy asked Spike.
She got a strange look from everyone.
"What?" "If we were lying, why would we be standing here talking to you, instead of ripping your throats out?" Spike snapped. "Because I'm the slayer and I wouldn't let you do anything like that." Buffy and Faith said in unison. "Our best move would be to find our "doubles" and share all the information we have over the situation." Angel didn't talk much, but when he did, you could literary hear his wisdom. <<< Good looks and smart. My ideal man.>>> Cordilea thought.
With that the group departed.

The year 2001 (Rated G)
In the following two years a lot had happened in Angel's life. His love for Buffy had once again led to tragedy, he had staked his sire, gone to Hell, returned because of Buffy's love and left her after almost draining her. Now he lived in LA. He ran Angel Investigations, which had recently moved to a new location, and with the help of Cordilea, Wesley, and Gunn, Angel was trying to regain his humanity.
"How come you never talk about her?" Gunn asked.
"There's nothing to say." Angel responded.
"Yeah, nothing except that she's the sire of the most vicious vampire of all times, Angelus, who is in fact you, and the fact that she's now back trying to convert you to your evil ways." Gunn was tired of Angel's ways of hiding his past. He knew it wasn't a very good past and it hurt Angel, but it was about time that he, Angel, moved on. "Look, I'm sorry for being so pushy, but if I'm gonna work for you, I want to know the whole you, not the present you."
"You don't have to be sorry, you have a right to know stuff like that." Angel knew that it was time to tell him everything. "Do you think you have enough time for a two-hundred-forty-five year long story?"
"I've got all the time you need." Gunn smiled and waited for Angel to begin.
"My name was Liam...

"Come on, Angel! Kick his ass!" Hope was watching Angel on TV. It was 9:20 on a Tuesday night and 'Angel' had just started. Cordilea, Wesley, Gunn, and Angel were fighting some slimy wall demon that some monks were worshiping.
"The dude's really loosing his touch." Faye commented over the phone.
"Ok, how would you feel if you were a vampire and your dead sire was invading your dreams?" Hope asked.
All of a sudden Hope had the urge to look outside, she was starting to get goose bumps and that meant that she was being watched. I guess you could call it a talent but ever since childhood, Hope could tell when someone was intensely watching her.
<<<How weird! No one else is home except me and no one ever comes around here on weeknights. I wonder who's out there. >>>
"Um… Faye?, I got to go."
"Oh, OK, later."
"Yeah"
Hope hung up the phone and as casually as she could, she made her way toward the kitchen. She could still feel the presence. <<<Oh well, it's now or never>>> Then as quickly as she could she ran to the window and opened the curtains. Whatever the presence was. It was gone now. <<<Weird>>>

"Wait, wait, wait, they could have done anything to you and they gave you a soul???" Gunn was definitely surprised at how easily the gypsies had let Angelus go.
"No, see, when you become a vampire, the demon takes over your mind. You don't have a conscience. When they gave me my soul back my conscience returned and I started remembering everything I had ever done." <<<Buffy was surprised at hearing this too>>> Angel remembered.
"Oh…now I get it! So since that day you haven't drunk from a human being, right?"
"Well, not exactly." <<<Buffy>>> "But I'll get to that part later."
"Ok, go on."
Gunn wasn't the only one listening to Angel's story. Cordilea and Wesley were listening too.
"Wow! He had an interesting life!" Cordilea told Wesley.
"Interesting isn't all that you could call it. I read about Angelus in the watcher diaries, but this is a lot more, well, interesting." Wesley answered.

Hope was dreaming. She could see Angel, Gunn, Cordilea, and Wesley. She could hear them speaking. It wasn't her first Angel dream. Last week she had dreamed that Angel was dreaming of Darla, and the strange thing was that she, Hope, was standing next to Darla. Angel was trying to talk to her, but she couldn't hear him. She had taken that dream as a figment of her Angel filled imagination, but it hadn't stopped there. Almost every night she would dream of similar things. And tonight she could hear him, she could hear everyone.

Angel was sensing something. Someone was there. He blinked and in his mind's eye he saw the girl again.
"Ok, you met the slayer. What happened after?" Gunn wandered why Angel had stopped his story.
"She's here."
"The slayer?" <<<What's wrong with him>>>
"The girl I have been dreaming about for the past few nights." Angel couldn't stop looking at her.
"Darla?!" Wesley, Cordilea, and Gunn asked in unison.
"No, but let me finish the story. I'll tell you everything."

Angel had closed his mind to Hope. She couldn't hear him anymore. But she watched. She couldn't do anything else. It was as if her body wasn't responding to her mind.
Angel had just finished telling them everything about his 245 years of existence. Everything. Silence had fallen over the hotel. Everyone was in deep thought.
"Who do you think the girl is?" Cordilea asked.
"I don't know. Do you think it has anything to do with the prophecy of the millennia?" Angel asked.
"It might. Since the prophecy said that a vampire with a soul would be her watcher. Do you think she's the slayer?" Wesley was confused. But he was weighing the facts.
"But if the slayer is appearing to you, doesn't it mean that either Buffy or Faith have to die?" There was the question. Cordilea was the only one who had had enough courage to ask it.
"I'm calling Buffy. I'll tell her to be careful. After that we'll head to the LA women's prison." Angel was really, really worried. He didn't want to loose his soul mate,Buffy, or his companion on the road to redemption , Faith.

The Prophetic Slayer(Rated G)
LA women's prison.
"You know what? We should teach little miss Faith a lesson."
"Yeah, we should. But did you see how she almost killed Hilda?"
"Hilda was one person, we will be thirty."
The rest of the prisoners were really sick of Faith's good behavior. If she continued this way she would be released from the prison.
Faith had no idea what was going on. She had no idea that by the end of that week, thirty other prisoners would attack her.

"Ok class, we have a field trip to LA's women prison this Friday. Here are the permission slips."
"Oh great, a field trip to the woman's prison. Are you going?" Faye
"Yeah, why not? It's better than staying in class."
"Yeah, you know what, Hope's right. I'm going too." Malcolm would do anything to get out of class.
"OK then, let's see who else is going."
It was decided. Hope, Faye, Malcolm, and Titus were going to go on the field trip.

"Is Buffy there?" Spike still couldn't believe he was doing this.
"Yes, hold on please." <<<Ooh… sexy! >>> Dawn couldn't help but find that voice sexy. "Buffy, it's for you. And he sound's hot!"
Riely and Buffy exchanged a look and Buffy headed toward the phone.
"Hello?"
"Buffy, it's Spike."
"Oh, hold on a second." Buffy closed the mouthpiece of the phone and turned toward Riely. "Dawn thought Spike was hot." After a short laugh Buffy went back to the phone. "Ok Spike, what do you want?"
"I'm leaving for LA. Angel knows about my chip and trusts me. He told me that he has been having visions of the slayer of the millennium."
"Wait, what does the slayer look like? Cause I've been having dreams of a red-haired, black eyed, pale skinned girl, every night for the past week."
"Is that so? Well it just so happens that Angel described the girl just like that."
There was a pause.
"I called you to see if you wanted to come to LA. See Angel and everyone else."
"I'd like to. But there is the whole, hell bitch in Sunnydale thing and I can't just leave."
"OK then. Angel will call you if anything comes up."
"Ok, good luck."
<<<I'll miss you slayer. >>> Spike thought.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!! Vision!" Cordilea screamed.
Angel ran to catch her.
{{{The hospital. A victim. Not clear whom}}}
"What did you see?" Wesley asked.
"I don't know. A hospital and a victim. Nothing else."
"We can't do anything with that much information." The vision of the girl whom everyone thought was the slayer returned to Angel.
"I can see her again." Everyone knew what Angel was talking about.
"Where is she?" Gunn asked.
The girl disappeared.
"She's gone."
There was someone knocking on the door. Someone who was demanding them to open the door ASAP. Cordilea opened the door and saw Spike.
"ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"What? What is it?" Then Angel saw Spike. "Oh, I told him to come over. Don't worry, his harmless. Come in Spike."
"WOW!!! Is this the same Spike your daughter sired?" Gunn was shocked.
"Dru is NOT my daughter!" Angel hated it when people thought he was Spike's grandfather.
Spike smirked at Gunn's comment.
Meanwhile he had walked in. He now faced Angel.
"Don't worry mate, I'll explain everything to them."
"About time somebody did." Cordilea stared at Angel with obvious anger.
"See, there was this government project, the Initiative…"

Hope was sitting on her bed, playing with Moon, her black cat, when she got a glimpse of Angel talking to Spike.
"You know what Moon, I think my little fantasies are getting to me." She went in front of the mirror and started brushing her red hair. Everyone said it looked really cool with her black eyes. She thought so too.
"Tomorrow, when that class comes to visit us, we'll attack Faith. Everyone will be concerned about the students. No one will be there to stop us."

The next day
"We're all here right?" Yup, Hope, Faye, Malcolm, and Titus were all there. In an hour, they would all be walking through the hallways of LA's women's prison.
"You know, most prisoners become really violent over time." Titus remarked.
"Gee thanks, now I rally want to go." <<<I have no clue how everyone puts up with him. >>> Faye had no idea why she had even agreed on coming to this field trip. She personally thought it was a waste of time.
They got there on time and the four friends decided to separate themselves from the class and have their own field trip. They had been walking for about a half an hour when they heard some screaming going on in one of the hallways. They got there in time to see a girl, apparently a prisoner, being stabbed by the leader of a mob of about a few dozen people. Hope and Malcolm rushed to the victim's aid while Faye and Titus ran to get help.
"Oh my Gosh! She look's exactly like Eliza Dushku!"
"Who is…?"
"The actress that play's Faith in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel."
"Hope! Look at all that blood!" Malcolm backed up. It was obvious he was very, very disturbed. Malcolm turned around and couldn't help but throw up.
"OK, I don't know who you are, but I'm gonna call you Faith. Everyone said I have penetrating eyes. It's time to see if that's true. Look at me Faith."
"It's happened before. Except this time, I don't think I'll live." Faith was slowly loosing consciousness.
"NO!!! Faith you WILL live! Everything will be OK." But she knew she was loosing her.
By the time help arrived, after a minute, Faith was unconscious.
They rushed her to the ER. Hope watched her and talked to her the whole time. But after an hour, Faith died. Hope cried more than she had ever cried her whole life.
Faith's soul was watching this. She heard something. She looked up and saw the spirit of the oracles.
"Go back to your body Faith. It's not your time yet. The powers have seen everything and this is considered as your death. You will go back to your body, but just like the other slayer, you will be the cause of the prophetic slayer's birth."
Hope was still crying when she thought she heard the beating of Faith's heart. The doctors had noticed it too. Faith was alive. And from that moment on, Hope's life, changed forever.

Destiny(Rated I DUNNO! Juss a wee bit of language.)
This part is again set in season two.

Faith was awakened by a sweet voice that reminded her of her childhood days. She opened her eyes and saw the nurse who had awakened her.
"Faith? Do you think you'll be able to answer a few questions?" The nurse asked.
"Um… I think so." Faith replied.
"OK, how can I notify your family?"
"Family only?" <<<So much for that. >>>
"Yes. I'm afraid so.”
"Um… you could call my brother Angel, he works at the Hyperion."

An eerie silence that had fallen over the hotel was broken by the rings of the telephone.
Cordilea got the phone.
"Angel Investigations. We help the hopeless. How may I help you?… Oh, really?… Hold on." Cordilea turned to Angel. "It's a call from your 'sister' Faith."
Angel got to the phone.
"Hello?… The hospital?… Shit… I'll be right over." Angel turned to everyone, worry obvious on his face. "Whoever wants to come, get in the car."
Cordilea got in the car because of Angel's worried face.
Wesley got in the car because he felt very, very bad for Faith.
Spike got in the car because he wanted to know what had happened.
Gunn just got in cuz he saw everyone else doing it.
They got to the hospital in about twenty minutes. They found the nurse.
"I'm looking for Faith."
"Right this way, sir."
Angel had explained everything to everyone on the way to the hospital. Cordilea, Wesley, Spike, and now a worried Gunn, were sitting in the waiting room, each lost in their own thoughts.
<<<Why didn't she fight back? How did she come back? >>> Cordilea kept asking herself those questions.
<<<I can't help but wonder if the girl in Angel's dreams is the slayer. Right now I'm pretty sure she's been chosen. That'll make her the prophetic slayer! >>> Wesley was aware of everything going on, but he just couldn't help but think about the recent occurrences.
<<<Another bloody slayer. >>> Spike had had enough of slayers.
"I'm gonna call Buffy and tell her everything that happened." Cordilea and Wesley looked up. <<<Besides, it wouldn't suck to talk to that bawd. >>>
No one even bothered answering Spike. <<<The hell with you all>>> he got up and went to find a pay phone.

Angel stood there looking at Faith's almost lifeless body. <<<Why does this keep happening?>>>
"Faith?" Angel's voice was almost a whisper but at hearing it Faith opened her eyes.
"Angel?" She tried to sit up but fell back down. Angel caught her and gently placed her on the bed.
"I don't think you're strong enough to try that. Do you think you can tell me everything that happened?" Angel wasn't sure she could do that.
"Yeah, OK, I was…"

Hope's parents were very shocked after hearing what had happened. Their daughter hadn't stopped crying since she had come home.
"I think Hope needs some space right now." Darma was so worried about her daughter.
"Darma, we gave her the whole day! I think we need to talk to her." So was Wailen.
"No, not yet. She's not ready."
Hope was in her room writing in her diary.

"Fuck. How bad is she hurt? Is she gonna live?" Buffy was so shocked.
"Yea she's gonna live but listen, apart from Faith condition there's the whole issue of a new slayer; we think we know who she is.” He paused for a while. "How are you holding up with Glory?"
"I haven't had time… to deal with her. My mom was having surgery and well…" She couldn't continue.
"Understandable. Well I have to go Angel just got back." And he hung up.
"Bye." Buffy hung up the phone and went to the living room when all of the Scoobies were waiting for her to give them the news.

<<<That girl…is it possible? >>> Angel was deep in thought.
"Angel, over here." Cordilea waved.
Spike, Wesley, Gunn, and Cordilea were anxiously waiting for him. Angel sat down and started reciting the long story. When he was done, Spike asked the question everyone was pondering.
"Are you saying that the next slayer revived her?"
"Yes."
Silence fell over them all. After about five minutes Angel broke the silence.
"Spike, we're gonna go to this girl. I'm pretty sure Kate will have information on her. We find her, and test our theory. Cordilea, you and Wesley stay here. If Faith calls, tell her everything. She doesn't know about what's happened. Gunn, go to the prison, see if Faith has to get back in there anytime soon."
With those final words everyone got up and got started on their assignments.

Side effects(RAted G)
"Do you honestly expect me to believe that?"
"Look Kate, right now I really don't care what you believe, if you're not willing to help us I'm sure someone else will." <<<I am so sick of this whole vampires-killed-my-dad-so-now-i-hate-you crap! It's getting really old.>>> Angel and Spike were about to walk out when Kate decided to cooperate.
"Wait, I have some info..." Kate sat down and opened a file. "Apparently a class went on a why-you-should-stay-away-from-crime field trip. This girl you're talkin about, the redhead, she was the one who found Faith. The prisoners were apparently pissed off at Faith's good behavior, so they decided to get rid of her. Your girl got there the second the knife was jammed into Faith. She apparently did the best she could at keeping Faith conscious but she lost her about a minute before the paramedics got there"
"Did you talk to the girl afterwards?" Spike was wondering why Faith hadn't fought back...
"yes, I got to talk to her later on. She as still crying...poor girl, she's so young...." Kate drifted off for about a minute taking Angel with her.
"Oh bloody hell!!! Can we get to the point already?!!!" Spike brought them both back to earth.
"Yeah, sure, OK. Newayz, I talked to her. Her name's Hope Maquintosh. Here's her address."
"Thanks Katie" Angel and Spike headed for Angel's car.
Kate waited until Angel and Spike were out of the door and then whispered "Take care of her."

Hope's parent's were knocking on her door.
"Hope, honey, can we come in?"
Hope wiped the tears off of her face and told her parents to come in. There was a awkward silence, after about 50 seconds Hope ran to her parents, hugged them and told them everything. About an hour had passed. Hope felt much much better.
"Mom, Dad, will it be OK if my friends come over?"
"Sure honey, your father and I will probably go to the movies. Will that be OK with you?"
At that instant Moon jumped on Hope's bed, then came over to Hope and made herself comfortable on Hope's lap. Hope began petting Moon.
"Yeah, I'll be fine."

"This is the house." Angel and Spike sat there looking at the Maquintosh residence.
"Well?" Spike was getting bored.
"Well what Spike? You were never much of a thinker were you?"
"HEY!!!"
"What are we gonna do! March into her house and tell her 'sorry you had a bad day, I'm just here to tell you that you're the slayer. Have a nice night'???!!!"
"Hmmmmmm......guess you're right peaches."
Their thoughts were interrupted by the headlights of a car that stopped right in front of Hope's house.
"Guess she's got company, mate."

"Hey. Come on in." Hope mumbled as she opened the door. It was Titus and Faye.
"Where's Malcolm?" Hope asked.
"He's apparently in more shock then you. I asked him if he was gonna come but he told me that, and I quote, 'today I belong to my bed.'" Titus explained. "How you holdin up?"
"I'm OK...i guess. The girl is fine, I called the hospital and apparently her family has taken care of her."
"Hmmmm...."
The three friends were quiet for a while. Hope realized she was getting goose bumps.
<<<Something's out there.>>>

"OK, they're going toward the living room...now they're turning on the TV...Oh bloody hell! Red is comin out." Spike ran back to Angel's car.

"Come on Moon. Something's out there, and I'm gonna find out exactly what it is."
Hope opened the door. If Angel turned the car on now it would look not only suspicious, but it would also scare Hope. He didn't wanna scare Hope.
Hope put Moon on the street. The cat started walking towards the two vampires.
"OK, let's see what's there." <<<This is really stupid, HELLO?!?!?!, what if there really is something out there, how the hell am I supposed to defend myself!!!>>>
Moon's daughter jumped in the car and started hissing.
"OK Moon, that's really annoying" Hope started walking towards the car. "Moon come on! There's nothing out here! Stop hissing Moon! And stop scratching the car seat! The owner is gonna be so pissed off!"
Hope got to the car picked Moon's Daughter up and was greeted not by a messed up car seat but by the faces of her favorite actors. A few seconds of shocked passed.
"Hi." The two vampires said is unison.
"David?! James?!"

The Discovery (Rated PG)
<<<This cannot be happening! You know why this can't be happening? Because David Boreanaz and James Marsters don't just happen to park their car in front of my house and then hide so my freakin cat can't get to them! This is SO not happening!>>>
"Um...Could you please explain why you're hiding in your car, which is parked rite across the street from my house, and is a...hey! That's the car Angel drives! Oh wow!" Skepticism put aside Hope HAD to look around the car. She'd watched Angel cruise in it a billion times.
Spike looked at Angel. "Any ides are welcomed."
All of a sudden Moon jumped on the blond vampire and dug her claws in his skull.
"AGGGGGGHHHHHHH!" With that his vamp face came on and he tried desperately to get the cat away from him.
"MOON! Moon get off him! Oh no! Moon get off--" But she couldn't finish her sentence because at that moment Spike stood up and Hope saw his face.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" <<<This can't really be me can it! Oh my Gosh! I've never screamed like this! Then again I've never seen a vampire!>>> The screams just kept coming and by the time Angel silenced her Titus and Faye were outside and running towards Hope. Meanwhile Spike had gotten the damn cat off of himself and was slowly rubbing his head.
"Hope! Hope calm down! Hope listen to me, you have to stop screaming."
"Hey! Buddy! How do you know her name!" Saying this Titus and Faye took Hope from Angel's arms and got her inside. Moon slowly followed. They shut the door and Angel realized that no matter what, he had to clear everything up for the poor girl.
“Hope, are you okay? Man! What was goin on out there!”
“Nothing Titus…nothing at all…you guys, if you don't mind I really wanna be alone for a while.”
“Sure Hope, I'll call you later OK?”
“Allrite Faye.” Hope stood up gave her two friends a hug and led them out the door. Moon appeared out of nowhere, she slowly went to Hope and started rubbing against her legs.
“What is it Kitty, haven't you done enough tonight?” Hope slowly picked up her cat and went to sit down on her couch.
“What was out there Moon? Was it really vampires? Do you really think that was it? But vampires don't exist…and I'm TALKING TO A CAT! Geesh.” She slowly let the cat go and just sat there letting all her thoughts go through her head.

“You screwed up Spike! Now she'll never trust us. How the hell are we ever gonna talk to her if she won't even look at us anymore?!”
“It wasn't my fault the bloody cat wanted to bite my head!” <<<Stupid soul-boy>>>
“We need to talk to her, we can't just leave now. She'll be freaked! And she's been through enough already.”
“Fine, go in there do the things you heroes do. I'll just stay here; away from that bleeding cat."
”Whatever Spike."

Hope heard a knock on her door.
<CRAP! What the hell do I do now! I should get a bat...no I should stay still, if they don't know I'm hope they'll leave me alone... yea right. OK, bat it is.> She slowly got up and went to her room. She got out the baseball bat that had helped her score so many touchdowns. <Don't let me down baby> At that moment, with the bat in her hand she felt like she could take on the world, as she slowly got to the living room, the confidence left her and she was a VERY scared little Hope. <Hey, maybe they left already, no one's gonna stick around for THAT long! Right, so I'll just_ CRAP! Was that a knock?!>

“Hope? Hope please open the door, I need to talk to you, please Hope I'm not gonna hurt you, just open the door.”
<Yea right! If I open that door whatever's on the other side will kill me! But then again…if they really were vamps then they couldn't hurt me cuz HELLO? Haven't really invited them in have I? And if they're not vamps? Well then…I have a bat! AHA! Yup! I'll kick their ass… YEA RIGHT!>
"Hope please! It's really important that I talk to you." <this girl is never gonna open the door. Might as well_>
Angel's train of thought was interrupted cuz right then the door opened and Hope stood there with a baseball bat, ready to hit anything that might scare her.
“What do you want?”
“I Just_”
“Who are you!? WHAT the hell is wrong with your buddy in the car?! Why won't you leave me alone!? Why are you at_”
“OK! OK, I know you have questions and I'll answer them for you, just don't panic.” <Well, I knew it wasn't gonna be easy. Why did I think she'd welcome the whole thing into her life? Watchers would know how to break the news to the slayers. I should have asked Giles, no wait, Giles didn't have to do this, Buffy already knew she was the slayer. I should have asked Wesley. Why didn't I ask Wesley! He'd know all of this, he was with the council for a long time. He could have written it down for me and then I would've memorized it…>
“Um…hello? You OK there?” <What a weirdo!> “You can't really give me answers if you're all in your own world and stuff.”
“Right, right. Sorry. It's just…have a seat, this is gonna be one hell of a night.”
“Somehow, I knew that already.”
<First test comes up right now. Come on Hope, let's see if you're slayer material.> “Aren't you gonna invite me in?”
“Hell no! You got something to say? Say it from right there.” She put the bat down and sat down a couple of feet away from the door.
<Good job Hope.> “OK, This might sound like the weirdest thing you've ever heard, but…I don't know how to put this…”
He didn't have to because Spike did the work for him.
“You're the slayer.”
Angel let out a sigh of relief, but one look at Hope's face made him get all worried again. She wasn't terrified, and she wasn't indifferent, it was as if she knew…somewhere deep down, the girl had known.
“Who are you guys?”
“I'm Angel, and this is Spike.”
“Don't you mean you're David and he's James?” Hope was confused, shocked, and she felt like she was gonna scream and jump and hug them. She didn't know why Buffy and Faith had complained so much. She didn't really see anything wrong with having superpowers and kicking ass every night. But she needed information. She couldn't let these two guys go until they told her everything they knew.
Angel realized this was going to take a while so he began from the beginning, form the prophecy.
“Hope, a while ago, we found this prophecy that said that one day, a slayer would be chosen that would allow worlds and universes to merge in or to separate out. Because of this the universe of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel have been merged into the real world.”
“So technically you're both Angel AND David?”
“No, there is an Angel, me, and a David, David Boreanaz. There is a Spike, and there's a James Marsters. The same thing goes for every character you've ever seen on either Buffy or Angel.” He decided to stop talking, see if she believed what he was trying to say, if she understood all of it.
“OK, so what?” <Wow…am I buying this? I'm stupid if I am, but then again, all those visions and I did see Jame-Spike, I did see Spike vamp out. Then again, it could all be a freakin joke. Couldn't it?>
“This is all because of the slayer, and Hope, you're that slayer.”
“Question, was it Faith that died at the prison or was it Eliza?”
“Faith.”
“Hmm…thought so. Here's what doesn't make sense Angel, if I'm the slayer how come I don't have super powers? Who's my watcher? And how the hell am I gonna make `Universes merge or separate'?”
“Listen bit, how about you try and break that bat?”
“This! NO! This is my favorite bat! Something else…”
Spike looked around, then he went to Angel's car, found some swords that were lying around and gave one to Hope.
“Try this.”
She couldn't believe this was happening, but she had to admit she was curious. So she grabbed the sword.  And then with her other hand she slowly grabbed the sharp part of the sword, she made sure she didn't cut her palm and then she gave it her all. All of a sudden the sword began bending. A look of complete horror came over Hope and she quickly dropped the sword. She stood up and started to back away from the door.
“Hope, listen to me. It's OK!” <I've lost her! Spike's fault again!> Angel turned to Spike and if looks could kill Spike would be dust.
Hope stopped, tried to think everything through. This was no joke, it was real…
“Come in.”
“What?”
“Angel, Spike, you're invited in. Come in and explain to me what the hell is going on! Tell me why I just bent that sword!”
With the invitation Angel and Spike came in and Angel decided this was a good time to tell her all about her destiny.
“Hope, that wasn't the only thing the prophecy said.”
“Oh great, here's more stuff I didn't know about.”
“The prophecy also said that your watcher would be a vampire without a soul.”
Hope stopped, her eyes grew wide, she was about to tell Angel how happy she was when she decided she'd rather continue with the I-so-lost-and-confused routine and see what else she could get out of them.
“Do you think I could see that prophecy?”
“What prophecy?” That was Darma! Hope had been so caught up with the whole thing that she hadn't noticed her parents walk through the door.
“Hope are those BOYS in our house AFTER 11?” And THAT was Wailen.
<uh oh! Mom and Dad are gonna kill me!> “Hi Mom! Hi Dad! Back so soon?”
“Yes and it's a good thing we are! Who are these guys and why are you all sitting in the dark!” Darma went over to the light switch and flipped it on.
“Mommy, Daddy, why don't you sit down. Angel and Spike will explain EVERYTHING. I'll go get some water.”
Darma and Wailen slowly sat down and Angel began explaining the whole thing all over again. When he was finished the Maquintosh family sat in silence, all thinking about the destiny Hope now had, and the dangers that came with it.

Not Like The Others (Rated PG 13)

It had been three months since Hope's calling. She had become the slayer. She was strong, and she was good. She was even better than Buffy, or Faith. She had skills that could not be matched by any slayer throughout the times. And yet there was something about her. She didn't make witty comebacks when fighting vampires, and she never stopped training. Angel was worried about her. She didn't have friends, like Buffy did. Since she had become the slayer she had distanced herself from her friends. Maybe he was being unfair, he shouldn't compare her to Buffy. It was just, standing there, seeing her punch the sandbag, he wished she'd talk to him; she was so detached. So alone...he wished he could help.

<<<Look at him! Sitting there! Watching me! Thinking no doubt about his Buffy. Bastard. He's probably thinking "Buffy could do better, Buffy did this, Buffy did that, Buffy was brave, Buffy, Buffy, Buffy" Screw Buffy. Buffy didn't have it like me. Buffy had you Angel, Buffy had Giles, Willow, Xander, everyone. Buffy had it easier than me. Me_>>>
"Hope, that punch was sloppy."
<<<Fuck you Angel. Buffy wasn't fourteen when she was called, Buffy had friends, me, my fuckin friends don't even look at me anymore. Faye...she was like a sister...she was...OK, Maquintosh, don't you dare cry! Not in front of your freakin watcher. When I was called they didn't tell me the council was gonna hate me, they didn't tell me that I wasn't gonna have Buffy's kick ass wardrobe, they didn't tell me being the slayer was so unglamorous. Joss got a shitload of stuff wrong. Joss, oh yea, he came to me thanked me; told me I was special. SPECIAL MY ASS! >>>
She kicked the sandbag and it flew to the other side of the room.
"OK Hope, I think you've trained enough. Why don't you go get something to eat?"
She just looked at him. They stared at each other for longer than a couple of minutes. Angel knew he wasn't going to win this battle. He walked to the sandbag, picked it up, filled it even more with sand and hung it from where it was hung before. As soon as he was done she began kicking and punching it again.
<<<Buffy is beautiful, she's witty, she's got Angel, and hey, she's a good girl. She's brave too. Faith was a bad girl, but still, she got more attention than I'll ever get. Me, there's nothing special or cool about me. So a bunch of actors owe me their careers, big whoop. They would've gotten famous neway. >>>
She stopped abruptly. She picked up her stuff and she headed out of the room.
Angel just stood there. He was hurt, or confused, or lost, and he knew he'd never be a watcher to her, just some guy who hung around. The council was already pissed, they'd tried to kill her, and she'd turned and burned down the whole building. Technically she hadn't killed anyone, but she had destroyed the whole headquarters. They weren't gonna mess with her anymore, that was for sure. Then there was the obvious fact that she hadn't really crossed over to any other dimension...or maybe she had, but hadn't told him about it.
Cordy walked in.
"Angel, how'd it go?" She sat down and looked at the mess the training room had turned into.
"The usual. She trained for five hours and then just left. Did you see her?" He sat down as well.
"She went to take a shower. Angel...you can't let her do this. She's killing us all! She won't talk to us, she won't complain, she shows no emotion whatsoever, and I don't even think she realizes we exist!"
"Cordy, stop. I can't do anything about all those stuff. I have to admit, I expected my watcher experience to be a lot more pleasant...but she's young. All those hormones_"
"Don't excuse the way she's treating you." Wesley had come into the room. Behind him were Gunn and Fred. Fred was holding Conner.
"Allright, you guys have a better idea? You want to tell me how to get to her, how to make her listen! HOW TO MAKE HER UNDERSTAND THAT HER ATTITUDE WILL END UP KILLING HER?! Be my guest! I'm open to any ideas!"
Everyone was taken aback. Angel wasn't like that. He was so desperate. He was scared for Hope; he didn't know what to do. The silence was interrupted by Conner. The baby was scared and had started crying. Still, the tension was lifted and everyone went back to the hotel; got back to their work. Angel calmed Conner down and then put him to sleep.

Hope came out of the shower. She slowly sat down on her bed. She didn't want anyone to know she was out. She hadn't turned the water down. She slowly began to cry. After a while she stopped. She went to the shower, put it on extra cold and slowly waited until all feeling had been drained from her. She came out. Turned the water off and put on some jeans and a black turtleneck. She brushed her hair and looked at herself. <<<Oh Moon, I wish you were here.>>> She decided she looked decent and walked out of the room.
“I'm gonna go patrol.”
No one disagreed.
She was in downtown LA, in the middle of the night and she was aching for a fight.
A couple of idiots were standing by an ally. She knew they had seen her and she knew what their intentions were.
<<<Oh well, I guess cleaning the city of a couple of rapists isn't that bad of an idea.>>>
“Hey babe.” The first idiot called out to her. His partner walked up to her.
”We wanna show you something.”
<<<Three guesses>>>
She put on her best “I'm-an-innocent-little-girl” face and slowly followed them.
Once they were all the way in the ally one of them pulled pushed her against a wall and the other took out a knife.
They started laughing.
<<<They sound like fuckin hyena's.>>> Her face remained unchanged. Then without even giving them a chance to think she kicked the guy with the knife in the face and punched the other guy. She was so strong that by the use of moves as simple as that she had knocked them both unconscious.
<<<Time to call the cops>>> She grabbed the phone and dialed 911.
“Nine one one, what's your emergency?”
“I was just attacked by two guys…”
She gave them the address and as soon as she saw the police cars approaching she backed up and mixed in with the shadows. She saw the police take away the dirtbags and then walked away to see what else was in store for her.
She had been patrolling for a couple of hours now and all she had found were a couple of vampires.
<<<Slow night>>>
Right then a blinding light appeared in front of Hope. It was bright, but it was black. Pure black light.
“What the-” She couldn't finish her sentence because the light seemed to draw her in, no, not draw her in it was PULLING HER! The thing was pulling her inside.
“Hey! Let me go! Shit man! Let me go!”
Nothing happened the light kept pulling finally she gave up and found herself in a very dark room. The walls were red, the ceiling was red, even the floor was red. IN the middle of it all burned a blue fire.
<<<Does blue mean it's really hot? Or that it's really cold? Maquintosh! Why the hell are you wondering about the color of fire right now!?>>>
A deep voice interrupted Hope's thoughts.
“Hope Maquintosh, welcome.”
“Um…hi?” The voice didn't say anything. “Could you tell me why I'm here?”
“Your destiny is to be unfolded.”
“Um…OK.”
There was silence. <<<Is this like the wizard of Oz? Do I have to ask questions in order for the big guy to talk?>>>
"Yes Hope, you do."
"Ooh! Mind reader. Hmm...well, I'd like to know my destiny."
Nothing. <<<Ok, that wasn't exactly a question.>>>
"What is my destiny?"
"Hope Maquintosh, the demons that rule the underworld are sick and tired of Buffy Summers stopping them from opening the Hellmouth. They have decided to migrate."
"Let me guess, they're coming to LA?"
"Oh no my darling. Much worse than that. They have realized that Hell is inhabited by demons, if the demons slowly came out of Hell, and they didn't come out all at once, their presence would be undetected. They would remain undetected until most of Hell was unleashed on the Earth. Then the armies of the demons would destryon the plague of humanity adn retake the world."
"OK, so the demons are smarter than we give them credit for, big deal. What does this have ot do with me?"
"You, my darling, are destined to travel through time and space and kill all those who have already gone back in time and freed themselves into. the world."
"Gee, goodie." She paused and looked at her surroundings. "So, um...how am I gonna gt back in time again?"
"Everytime you are needed a portal like the one you entered today will open. Go into it expecting the unexpected. Be ready Hope, you have a bumpy road ahead of yourself."
The walls around her crumbled. And she was back in the street.
"Thanks for the heads up."

Author's note: From this point on the story takes place during season six of Buffy, (before Tara died) and during season three of Angel (before Wesley knew anything of the prophecies). Enjoy! And feedback is always appreciated.

The Black Portals (PG-13)

Angel had felt something, a draining, an utter loss of self, and then as soon as it had happened, it went away, and everything was back to normal.

Hope felt dizzy, she didn't know how long she'd been in the red room. <Maybe time travels differently there...> Her whole body ached, like she'd been fighting for hours. <I gotta get back to the hotel.>
She realized she wasn't in a good enough condition to walk all the way back so she decided she'd call Angel, maybe he'd be in a generous mood. She took out her cell but the numbers seemed strange, she couldn't read them all too well, still it was pretty basic and she dialed the hotels number in a few seconds.
After a few minutes an operator came on.
"Sorry, but the number you've been trying to reach is disconnected. Please try again."
<Disconnected? What the fuck?>
She called Fred, she called Gunn, Cordy, Wesley....All of them were disconnected.
Her head was starting to feel better and her eyes were starting to see more clearly. She looked around herself and realized that the street she was in didn't even resemble the one she had walked into before being sucked into the red room.
<OK, now it's really weird.>
She put the phone back in the pocket and started to slowly walk around. After a couple of steps though, she was so tired and her muscles were in so much pain that she just collapsed on the ground.

When Hope woke up it was morning and a couple of people were staring at her. Their cloths were old raggedy and dirty, and they smelled aweful.
"She's awake!" The  woman screamed.
"She's awake! She's awake!" Her companion joined her in her screaming.
"Geez! Disturbing much?" Hope quickly got up and ran out of the ally. The two people continued screaming.
Her head felt much better now, and she could walk, even run, without getting too tired. Of course she wasn't as strong as she would have liked to be, and she didn't feel as though she had any slayer strength in her. <OK, no need to panic Maquintosh. You just gotta go around and figure out where you're at.>
Hope walked for what seemed to her like a couple of hours, she looked at her watch and realized it had stopped working.
<Of course. Why the hell would anything go right? I don't know why I even thought it would work.>
Just then she realized something else, in all the time she'd been walking she hadn't seen a single person. She looked up at the sky and realized that it was covered with dark clouds.
<I forget, can vamps come out on cloudy days? Whatever. I need to get some food!>
She looked around herself and realized that she was probably in a town, even though it didn't look anything like LA it was bound to have some coffeshops, or a restaurant or something.
<Oh look, another nifty little discovery, the stores are all closed and barred up.>
"WHERE AM I?!"
The whole thing was getting a little too annoying, a little more creepy.
"It's like the place is dead..."
She walked a little more and then realized that the hunger was too strong and she needed food in order to go on. Her strength hadn't completely returned yet, but she figured it would be enough to break a couple of the store windows and getting inside to find some food.
Hope looked around in hopes of finding something that would help her break the think glass and the thick wood that was covering all the stores. There was nothing around her though, no matter how much she searched for a trash can, or a branch, or anything, she couldn't' find one. Finally she found a  bench. <I wonder if I'm strong enough to break it.> She walked to the bench and with all her might she kicked it. The bench broke in half. <See, I knew I still had it in me.> With a smile she picked up half of the bench and carried it to the nearest store. She slowly peeled away all the boards that were nailed ot the store.  Then, summoning her strength once more she threw the bench to the store's, now exposed, window. The glass broke with a loud crash and Hope slowly entered the dark store.
<That's weird, this place looks like it's been closed for ages.>
She looked around the store for what seemed to her like a few miserable hours and discovered that there was nothing there, No food, no water, no nothing. The place was completely empty.
<Great, that's just great.> She slowly sank down to the floor. <What do I do now?!>
She sat like that for a while, until she realized that tears were actually falling form her eyes. <Gosh Maquintosh, what's gonna happen to you?....No! You weren't born to break down in these kinds of situations! Pull yourself together!>
The slayer stood up and with determination set out to find why the place was so dead.
With every step her strength increased, she was still hungry but she no longer cared about it. Her powers were coming back to her and she felt like kicking someone's ass.
After walking a couple of dozen blocks she noticed a bright spot in the sky. It was coming from something in the city. She followed the light until she reached a big building. It was gray and light was coming off of it. She noticed some guards blocking the entrance.
<Finally, some people.>
But then, with a start she realized that these weren't people; they were demons.
