Synopsis: Director Joel Schumacher casts Nicolas Cage as a seedy private eye in this psychological thriller. A widow discovers an 8 millimeter "snuff" film in her husband's safe ("snuff" being the type of porno movie where one of the performers is killed on screen). Cage, aided by co-star Joaquin Phoenix, investigates the underground industry to determine its origins.
