Whose Line Is It Anyway? is a completely unique concept for network television, providing totally improvisational comedy from today's most popular performers. Host Drew Carey sets the scene for four talented comedians, who rely completely on their quick wit and improvisational skills to instantly invent unrehearsed skits, games or songs in front of the audience. The show is genuinely improvised, so anything can happen.

Carey, Ryan Stiles (The Drew Carey Show), Colin Mochrie and a rotating roster of actor/comedians improvise their way through the half-hour of non-stop laughs. Other performers include Wayne Brady, Greg Proops and Brad Sherwood. Multi-talented musician Laura Hall is on hand to provide a variety of musical cues often used in a sketch (e.g. an improvised song about plumbers is sung to a reggae beat).

Whose Line Is It Anyway? premiered on August 5, 1998.
