Welcome to my kitchen!
I love to cook and bake, and
I love to try new recipes!
I also love gourmet
coffees and chocolate.
How about if we enjoy
a cup of Jamaican coffee and
some of my favorite French Truffles
while I prepare dinner?

French Truffles:
makes roughly 6 dozen truffles

T 12-ounce package of semi-sweet chocolate morsels
T 3/4 cup canned sweetened condensed milk
T 1 teaspoon vanilla
T Assorted flavored powders, such as flavored instant cocoas or cappuccinos, cinnamon and sugar, or powdered fruit drinks like Crystal Light

Melt chocolate in top of double boiler over hot but not boiling water. Stir until smooth, then add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.

Allow to cool until it can be handled without burning your fingers, but make sure it's still warm enough to shape easily. While it's cooling, place flavored powders in shallow bowls. Using your fingers, roll a small piece of the chocolate into a ball and then roll in flavored powder. Place on waxed paper-lined cookie sheet to cool completely in the refrigerator, or even in the freezer, if you just can't wait to try them (like me!)

Be bold with your flavored coatings -- experiment with different flavors until you find the ones that you like the best! My personal favorite is a cinnamon and sugar coating!
