Trophy Hunting

Trophy Hunting Outings are for the experienced and seasoned muskie fisherman.
This type of fishing is challenging, often boring, and in most cases there will be little if any action.  The odds are strong that you will see no muskies all day.  The odds are stronger that you will not catch a muskie all day.  Although the action can be brain-deadening slow, if a muskie is caught, it will usually be a large one.  The seasoned trophy fisherman realizes this and is going for quality, not quantity.

This type of fisherman has much experience in fighting and landing muskies, fishing waters others ignore, and using techniques  that may be different from the run-of-the-mill.  He (or she) will not crack under the long hours of inactivity because of the knowledge that the potential for a really large muskie is there.  Trophy Hunting Outings are not for the inexperienced or faint-hearted.

Fat Fish Guide Service is willing to take novice trophy hunters (not novice muskie fishermen) on this type of outing.  It is the only way a serious trophy hunter will learn the professional ropes.  However, we prefer to take only well-experienced muskie fisherman on these.  This does not mean we do not work hard to have a beginner or novice bring in a large muskie.   It brings us great pleasure when it happens!

The steady grind of long, boring hours, using unfamiliar techniques, and inexperience with fighting a very large muskie usually brings frustration and heartaches for the novice.  If you are a novice or intermediate, be on the water as much as possible, gain as much experience as you can, learn all you can, then brace yourself for some real time on the water.
