MuchMusic Discusses Youth Suicide
By: ChartAttack.com Staff

Kurt Cobain. Ian Curtis. Sid Vicious.
All talented, young musicians that ended
their lives truly short of their full potential.

Suicide in popular culture has always,
and will always, be a disturbing issue
with many fingers pointed, but answers
are always hard to come by. "By Their
Own Hand," the latest installment in the
                 TooMuch4Much series, which airs May
                 15 from 4:30-5:30 p.m., will attempt to
take an unprecedented look at the
                 phenomenon of youth suicide and
explore its portrayal in music and music videos.

The TM4M concept has historically brought diverse and contrasting
minds to bear on social issues that affect youth.

Host/Moderator Denise Donlon will be joined by a panel of guests
including Christine Simmons-Physick of Kids Help Phone; Pop-Up
Video Creator/Executive Producer Tad Low; Music Critic for the
Canadian Press, Andrew Flynn and Jet Set Satellite member Trevor
Tuminski, whose current video "Best Way To Die" has been the object
                 of some scrutiny.

This special edition will be broadcast live across North America from the
Metro Toronto Convention Centre as part of the Summit 2000: Children,
Youth & Media, which will include over 1,000 delegates from 34
                 countries.
