In
Coming
to the Church third graders will learn about the community of Jesus’
friends we call the Church. They will read how the Church began and grew.
They will learn that the Holy Spirit guides the Church’s life and worship
all over the world and in each parish. Coming to the Church,
will help young people to become faithful, loving members of the Catholic
Church. It will help them to do this by teaching them:
- stories from the Bible about Jesus;
- stories about people in the Church who have tried to live as friends of Jesus;
- what Jesus wants our Church to be like today;
- how their parish is their home in God’s Church;
- how celebrating the sacraments of Eucharist and Reconciliation will help them to grow as a disciples of Jesus.
