Funeral In Carpathia

I can imagine everyone was surprised the first time FiC' s intro reached their eardrums.WOO!!!!!
Isn't this fucking great or what???The guitar riff is forever stuck in my mind and if there was a hierarchy
in the memory of man that controled which things come to your mind first this riff is still holding the place.
Whatever I do wherever I go it's there in my mouth whispering, driving me mad, but I love every second of it...!!
Well, seems this track is about the death of a female vampire, Luctretia and since we are talking about Carpathia
probably a countess...(I hope it has nothing to do with Bathory...I am sick of hearing about her...Thanks god we
have another name on our hands!!!).The first verse is a bit complicated but I think < Candelabra snuffed >
states her death. The next few lines < Seduce me with silky...> give a reason why she so important. As we all know
gothic was the main picture in the band those days and of course goth includes romance (strange as it may seem
the moment I wrote the word "Romance" I was listening to this CD and "A Gothic Romance" just started...weird !!!)
so (I refer to Dani as the main character knowing that these songs are his thoughts) Dani thinks her kisses to be deadly
or at least worth dying for <With Lucifugous kisses...Creeping like violetions from the shadows to kill.>.Then he mourns
for her loss but weeps for the loss of his love < Lucretia is my love in vain When thy tears...>.
< I am He the crowned and conquering darkness >I have no idea on this. What has Satan got to do with this???
Next up is a (in my opinion) fantastic gothic scenery <This wintry eve when the snow glistens deep and sharpened
turrets wd the jewelless skies >.I believe the sharpened turrets to be the turrets of a high gothic tower or castle. And in
combination with the forest mentioned before that makes a great gothic scenery.
<Beaty slept and angels wept for Her immortal soul >.This is clearly some kind of mourning for the death of the vampire.
<Carpathia the pleasured dead speak of her...> What we have here is a vulgar display of (not power Pantera fans...) grace
and how much the vampire was known and beloved.(I know what you are thinking, is <Masturbating in their graves >
sick or what???Well my friend read some poetry and you will find out that such descriptions are widly used in
gothic poetry. However I do believe that this is sick, but as I said before WE LOVE IT !!!!!!.
I am not going to say anything else for the rest of the song because I don't have a clue but for the last verse:
<And Laid to rest I now am blessed with this Darkness...forever more>Isn't this great ???
Does it mean that he died too? I wouldn't know.
Now wait until midnight, then climb to the top of your house (or castle) and sing for the whole world to hear:
.............AND LAID TO REST
.I NOW AM BLESSED WITH THIS DARKNESS FOREVER MORE...........
