Rodeos are governed by the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboy's Association)
Rodeo events include:
- Calf Roping
- Team Roping
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Bareback Bronc Riding
- Steer Wrestling
- Bull Riding
- Barrel Racing
In Team Roping, a timed event, a header and a heeler pair up to rope a steer
In Calf Roping may be either a judged or timed event
In Calf Roping, a piggin string is used to tie three legs of the calf
Rodeos are also subject to the intense scrutiny of the ASPCA, so be assured that abuse is rare
