You emerge from the portal in a small, undecorated room. Several dark tunnels, which bear a striking resemblance to caves, lead out of the room in different directions. Words are carved into the grey stone of the walls above the tunnel entrances, labeling the rooms at the other end of the tunnels.

Enscribed above each tunnel are the words:


There are exits in this room other than the tunnels and the portal, so it seems that the only way to leave this section of the Icon Tower is to go back through the portal.
