| (From the ongoing journal of the lords of Thrandor) |
| The young lords having just returned from the lost world of Kamar with control panels, a damaged robot, and one of the tables ripped from the floor of the robot control center, called the scientists and magic users together. Scurrying about they began to cart off the various pieces of obscure technology for examination and possible duplication. |

The Thrandorians then called a meeting and Sindy announced that she had composed a response to the mysterious note of Carmen Elmswand. Her note carried a tone of sarcasm and challenge. "It is easy to sit back and give encouragement and make enigmatic offers of assistance. I have challenged them to come forward and stand with us against Grom. It was decided that Lord Naef should be informed of both the information obtained from the Thieves Guild and all other information relevant to Grom and his plans. Ramathaz used his mental telepathy to contact Lord Naef, citing the most urgent of needs. Lord Naef agreed to come to Tar-Zarum. After learning of Grom's plans he vowed to give sanctuary to the lords in the days to come. The news of Grom's plan to have him assassinated didn't seem to bother the old Wizard although his eyebrows shot up perceptibly at the mention of 30 crack fighter/assassins teleporting into his belove d city. After thanking the Thrandorians, Lord Naef bid them farewell and returned via the Tar-Zarum Teleport pad to Latamere. It was agreed that as soon as the magic users in Latamere were done with it, that Groms simulacrum would be destroyed as it wasn't human but a creation of alchemy and dark magic. It was further decided that Bleuto, being a human should be kept alive against the day when he might stand trial. Atiqua, Elvar, the Fire and Frost Giant leaders and several members of both the scientific and magic using contingent were then summoned and or transported to Tar-Zarum where they were informed of all that had been learned. They were told to prepare their charges for battle. |

Later that day
after the meetings were over, Lothorine and Totori used the Teleportation
Audry and Sindy went to Tappit. After two days of undercover research they found that Annabell, daughter of the Mayor of New grom City was being held in the Lt. Mayor's residence. It also seemed to be a command post of sorts. Through stealth and alot of work Sindy found the mayor's daughter Anbella in Tapit and convinced her to return home. A complication had arisen... The son of the Mayor of Tuma was also present at the holding facility and is now at Tar-Zarum awaiting transit to Tuma. Furthermore these facility's looked to be equiped to hold many more people and had many offices... Sindy left for new Grom city (formerly new Thrandor) with Annabell but found entering the Mayor's residence harder than expected: the guard had been doubled... Sindy decided they would enter by means of invisibility. After two hours of waiting, Sindy decided to leave the girl and enter the manor by herself. After taking Annabell's signet ring and getting a lengthy description of the mayor, Sindy entered through the chimney, poorly but very speedily thanks to a fall. The fire below singed her but left her otherwise unharmed in the kitchen with three other inhabitantants. Thankful for her invisibility, Sindy began to move through the manor as a cat at major risk to life and limb. With a bit of convincing he and his 2 most trusted body guards go to get the girl. He warns: "You may have cost me my life" and "I can't hide this from Grom so whatever happens happens..." A conference is called and we decide to help.
The mayor thinks with a few wishes he can pull it off. Lord Naef can't help. With the help of Razatham, Muen, Mezmatar, Raz's scrolls, and friends we put 4 wishes and 7 limited wishes on Nevil (see wishes attachment). Meanwhile Bartow and Toturi pooled their efforts and income and acquired a back pack mounted pump device to be used in attacks against the church of Loki and a ring of "Teleport no error" (with 2 charges a day) a bargain at 80,000 GP . Through strength and stealth "Yaway's Strike Squad" destroyed the temple and it's evil alter (and some collateral damage to boot). Meanwhile Audry goes looking for a man to make saddles for the dinosaurs. On her second attempt she is successful in finding a man who didn't immediately throw her out. We will decide in a week what to do with the son of the Mayor of Tuma and the dinos.
Real date: 3/24/01 Game date: 3/22/43 The issue of the Kamarian genetic creature assembly program was spoken of briefly and it was decided that due to a lack of documentation no decision would be made until 3/31 to give Dominic time to find any information regarding their cost and production rate. With the whole party in attendance for the first time in 2 weeks the session began. After small debate it was decided that Lothorine would go to Portland to free Kristen Teteris (product of Ravenhawk and Vesher) from the Portland dungeons. Kristen had been imprisoned some 21 years since Grom's ilk had slithered in and deposed her after their victory over the old Lords. Though she was marked for death Kristen had been spared to keep a few local Thrandor loyalists in check. So far it had worked fine no one had successfully penetrated the dungeons and rescued her but Grom was about to lose his hostage After assessing his assets, Lothorine realized his task was much harder than he had thought. The rest of the young lords were committed to other tasks at the time and could only offer him the assistance of a trump card transfer. A trip to a Latamere and a chat with a priest reveled that the armband of possible resurrection would require a full WISH spell to recharge (a three-year wish). Furthermore travels to both the Lankhamar and Sature thief guilds turned up no useful information on the Portland dungeons. Lothorine finally set out by the telaport pad to Portland, no better prepared than when he started He entered the city and to get his bearings and a feel for the city he stopped at a local bar. After a few minutes he felt he had a good enough "feel" for the locals that he could blend in and so set out for the federal building. He checked the place out for about fifteen minutes, then when he had found a good place near an alley donned the hat of difference and with the druidic powers it granted him changed shape into the form of a sparrow. To assure he would not be seen he also began his psionic technique of invisibility. After a few circles of the building he found a mostly empty room and through the use of the innate ability of his Thrandorian lineage turned into a gaseous form and once under a locked door he became solid again and returned to the form of Lothorine. He found himself in a hall at the end of which was another locked door. It was a small obstacle for a thief of such great skill as Lothorine and he had it opened in seconds. The guards on the other side of the door found this somewhat of a surprise though, as Lothorine was still invisible Wishing to avoid detection Lothorine swiftly moved up to one of the guards and without a sound drew Temperus, his prized Power Sword. Without any loss in momentum he thrust the blade into the man's kidney (love that back stab x5). The ancient sword bit deep and hard; before he had time to scream the guard was dead. His partner was shocked at what he had witnessed and Lothorine ever the opportunist kicked the door shut and slashed him across the stomach in a single motion. The guard went down before he could issue any warning to his fellows, leaving Lothorine in danger, but not yet detected. Falling back on his thief skills again Lothorine locked the door, then mused over what to do with the bodies After a minute a thought struck him. He cast a Rope trick spell and hoisted the bodies into it. As he was doing so he pocketed a ring of keys from one of the guards. When both of them were in the pocket dimension created by his spell he cast an Unseen servant and had it pull the rope all the way up leaving no trace of where the bodies had gone. A Clean cantrip removed the blood and he was back on task. He went invisible again and picked the lock on the door the men had been guarding. Through it was a hall and another door which was also locked. Picking it proved a little harder than the last but he did it after a few seconds. This door also led to a small room very much like the last, right down to the two men guarding a door in the opposite wall... These guards were a little quicker to action than the last. One of them stepped forward to the door to see if some one had opened it and thus made himself a target Lothorine quickly and silently rushed behind him and let him have a sword between the sixth and seventh ribs. The other guard let out a cry for salvation to god in general and drew his sword. Lothorine placed his foot on the soon to be corpse of the first guard and with a bit of effort withdrew his blade he turned this effort into added momentum towards the second guard and spinning as he did so slashed the guard. The guard had no small amount of training and so moved his arm in the way of the blow to avoid it hitting his gut. Before the guard could counter Lothorine let him have another strike and a third blow finished him off. He took no measure to hide the bodies of the guards but instead turned his attention to the door. Withdrawing the ring of keys from his belt he unlocked the door (on the 6th attempt) and went through it led to a set of stairs at the bottom of which was another set of stairs this one ending at a door. Having only a bit of psychic energy left in him Lothorine decided not to go through the door invisible, instead he would bluff his way through any guards on the other side, this he did effectively. The guards on the other side had not heard the screams of their comrades and, after convincing them that he was expected, one of them took him to the captain of the watch. This was a very bad career move because as soon as Lothorine was sure he was unwatched and out of earshot he killed the guard, covering his mouth to muffle the scream and hoisting the body to his shoulder he then went for the nearest door. A simple lock on the door was almost no obstacle and he was through. It led to a small room with a single cell; apparently solitary confinement. A woman called out to him from one of the cells. Her name was Malinda. She had no idea where he could find Kristen. He let her out, pulled a trump card of Bartow from his pocket and began to concentrate on it. After the proper code Bartow answered the call and Lothorine sent the body of the guard and Milinda to Tarza-rune. Falling back on his still dwindling psionic powers Lothorine again became invisible and slunk back to the hall. After a bit of searching he came to a chamber with ten or so guards in it they appeared to be guarding (though not very effectively) a passage at the other end of the room. Lothorine slipped past them silently and into the passage. He noted that this hall was constructed with more appeal than the rest of the dungeon and looked like it led to living quarters. At the end of the hall was another chamber and in it a group of guards and three people in street clothes two of them woman and one a man all of them looked in their twenty's. On the other side of this room was a hall which Lothorine slipped into unnoticed. This hall was nicely decorated like the last eight doors ran down it and it ended in a featureless alcove... Suspecting a secret door Lothorine went right to the alcove but after a minute of searching he decided that it none was present. He then turned his attention to the doors. Realizing that he didn't have much time till someone found him out he decided to search the doors as quickly as he could so he cast a knock spell and unlocked half the doors on his right side. The noise of the many locks unlocking them self's attracted the attention of one of the guards but when he could see nothing amiss he returned to his post. Breathing a sigh of relief he opened the nearest door and found it to be a bedroom, as was the next, and the next, and the final one. Frustrated he turned to the other side of the hall withdrew his lock picks and opened the door to find Another bed room! Deciding that this area was just a waste of time he turned to leave but a woman was walking up the hall right behind him! He pressed him self against the wall and held his breath. The woman passed within inches of him, but didn't notice him. She walked down the hall and into one of the doors (none of them were locked to begin with but Lothorine never tried them) and Lothorine followed her. He stopped at the door, cast a charm person spell, held the magical energy's and opened the door. The woman inside was the target for the spell and it took affect on her unprepared mind (she failed her save). He said hello and closed the door behind himself. He quickly determined that she was indeed charmed and asked her where Kristen was to which she replied (DM roll's a 20)"that's me". He contacts Bartow via the trump card, sends Kristen through, and then goes through himself to safety After a short conversation the party determines that she has been charmed because of the pro Grom retoric she starts spouting. After a few dispels she's fine and thanks us for our assistance and says she will help our cause. With this done a meeting is called on what to do next. "Yaway's strike squad" (currently Bartow and Toturi) tells of the second assault on the main church of Loki in Grom's palm (formerly Frea's palm) and the near total destruction of said church. Bartow also uses his innate ability to heal Mezmatar's arthrightis in return for two magic missiles in his ring of spell storing. The party decides to send Audrey to talk to the druids outside of good land and tell them about what's going on. Sindy and Lothorine will go to Portland to talk to Callimus Fortuna mayor of Portland and a Thrandorian sympathizer. Slipping into Callimus's penthouse was a small matter for Sindy and Lothorine they found the security impressive but no match for their skills. Callimus left them waiting for two and half-hours before coming home to find two strangers in his living room. Sindy and Lothorine calmly talked with him for about five minutes and then (with no small amount of work) cast a forget spell on him Callimus wrote him self a letter and sealed it with instructions to himself to open it only: "when the shit hits the fan". Callimus told us he doesn't know how the assassins move about they just appear out of nowhere and disappear in the same fashion he also says that we have taken his most useful prisoner. After that they left unnoticed. The druids near Goodland are neutral in regard to the Anti-druids but will help us however they can they will call us by trump every week or so. The pre-emptive strike of Yaway will accrue next week and it will be in Delving. |
