Animal Restaurant Mola Pair

Restaurant Scene

This is one of the panels of a wonderful pair of molas that portrays a very whimsical and unique Animal Restaurant & Kitchen scene

This panel shows the Restaurant Scene.

The waitress, Mrs. Alligator, wearing a lovely embroidered dress, with a tray held high above her head has just come in thru the "swinging door" to take the delicacies that have been prepared by the chef, to the hungry customer. She is balancing the pepper "P" on her head.

The parrot, who wears glasses, is already enjoying his meal. A hungry rabbit, with a hat on his head and a bow ties is sitting in the booth and reading the menu, patiently waiting for his food.

The booth is also a work of art. It has lovely flowered "wallpaper" and of course the window, that has some "das das" or vertical stitches as the Kunas never leave a blank or open space.

Created using the reverse applique technique. Wonderful and elaborate embroidery throughout the mola. Picture is surrounded by intricate sawtooth or "dientes" stitch.
