Carnforth
East Junction. The building behind East Junction signal box was
thought for a long time, to be the original 1857 Furness and
Midland Railway, "Station", but recent evidence
suggestions that the structure was actually the building which
had stood as "Carnforth Station" close to the Furness
and Midland Junction between 1868 and 1880.
After the opening of the enlarged Carnforth Station on 2nd
August 1880, this building became redundant, and was later moved
to the site close to East Junction signalbox.
