Ground Zero

Until I finalize the new content of this section, here is an open letter from Android X, the creator and former webmaster of Ground Zero and several of it's featured Plug-Ins like Dragonball: Full Fuzion. I told him I would place this letter to all the visitors of Ground Zero here while I create the new content for this page at his request so he could explain some of the events that kept Ground Zero from taking off.

Here it is:

Dear visitors,

Most of you know me as Android X, but my real name is Matt Rousey. Yeah, I know, the new webmaster is named Matt as well, and yes, I know him in real life, and yes, it does get confusing. Actually, there is another Matt in our group so it gets even more confusing. We started role playing a few years back and have been n the internet for a while now. We use each others aliases and accounts, and we have a real closeness as do our other friends that was only furthred by years of enjoying weekends playing RPGs together.

It is that kind of friendship I know that RPGs are capable of helping found and it is because of that I decided to creat Ground Zero. I loved RPGS and the bonds they can create and I wanted to further that among others by providing a place where, not only could I and my group could share our ideas with the world, but could promote role playing in general.

Suffice to say all went well. Actually, a little two well. The site did better than I thought it would and soon, between my personal life, which became prettty time consuming soon after Ground Zero's launch, and he college classes I started attending, I found I was doing a substandard job webmastering it. Technical problems ensued as did issues with serivece providers. It seemed the world had aligned against Ground Zero and the ship seemed to be sinking. I still managed to find time for RPGs, but maintaining a site was a much bigger job than I had expected and was taking more time than I quite frankly had.

This is not to say I do not appreciate the traffic the site got. Far from it. I was shocked to say the least that some many seemed so interested in what I wrote and I felt very honored by it and I still do.

All the more reason I felt both ashamed and frustated that problem after problem arose when trying to deal with the site and aid the people I was so in awe of.

After resolving the hosting issues and regaining clear access to the site, it seemed to late to save it. THe site still got some hits, but I felt the reputation of it irrevocably damaged so I downed it and wrote it off as a failure on my part.

Recently, one of our Matts, Matt Adams (The real one, not another of us under his alias.) appraoched me on a break from college and asked if he could take over the site. I asked why he would want to take over a site that I felt surely had developed a horrid reputation and most likely was hated by Fuzion fans, but he explained to me that since his schedual was shifting, he would have more time to spend on it, so after some discussion, I turned the site and the Plug-Ins I had created over to him. As much as I love this site, their is simply no way I had enough time left to run it, but now, it seems as if Ground Zero has been given a second chance, and may yet prosper.

I hope you all give Matt and his efforts a chance. I am sure you will find him to be a very capable game designer and his love for the games are as great as mine.

I sincerely apologize to all of you who supported Ground Zero and were disappointed and I hope you allow Matt to start again clean on his run as webmaster. As I and Fro man move on to our next semesters, Matt will be joined by Sarah Rossy (aka Genfreak) as assistent webmaster on this site and I hope any dissappointment you had in me will not carry over to them.

I will try and drop by when I can and contribute articles and Plug-Ins to the site, but from now on, this is Otakusilk's baby. Take care of her Otaku.

Once again, I am sorry, and I deeply thank all those who supported this site and played it's Plug-Ins.

Android X
(Matt Rousey)

Thanks Andy X, I'll try to. And thank all of you who have already wrote in to me as the new webmaster. I hope I can make this site great, but I know I alone can't do that. It will take fans and visitors to do so and I thank each of you that contributes to this site with a visit.
