AN/FPS-26 Height Finder Radar

One of the Montauk site's two AN/FPS-6 height finder radars was replaced by an AN/FPS-26 height finder during 1963. Produced by the Avco Corporation, the new radar was deployed atop a newer and larger radar tower than those used by the earlier height finders. This radar operated in the 5500 to 5900 MHz frequency range.
