Main Gate
The main gate to the former Montauk Air Force Station is no longer guarded. The guard
shack (visible just inside of the fence) was abandoned when the Air Force left the
site in 1981. An abundance of large and colorful signs warn that the former
base, although acquired by New York State as a park, is still closed to the
public at this time.
