This stencilled sign warned radar technicians to have the adjacent height finder radar "blanked" before they ventured out onto the upper deck of the FPS-35 radar tower. At close range, the powerful microwave radiation from such a radar could have presented a serious hazard. Blanking the height finder ensured that it would not be pointed in this direction during maintenance procedures.
