Subtropical Plants you can grow in Washington, D. C., and vicinity !!
There are at least five species of hardy palms, and at least two species of hardy bananas that you can grow in Washington, D. C.! Plus bold and colorful subtropicals such as Cannas and Elephant's Ears! Although hardy and growable in our area, these amazing plants are almost unknown in cultivation! The purpose of this Web site is to acquaint you with these plants, show you pictures of them in cultivation in D. C. and vicinity, and give you the knowledge and resources to grow them yourself!
