THE VAMPIRE LOVERS
(Based on the story “Carmilla” by J.Sheridan Le Fanu, it is about the Karnstein family, all of which are vampires). A vengeful Baron enters the Karnstein Castle and be-heads a female vampire. But the cause of her vampirism, Mircalla, manages to escape. Years later, Mircalla returns as Marcilla. Not long after her appearance, Marcilla is introduced to the social world by a countess. After managing to talk herself into a wealthy household, the vampire begins to feed on her young, female victims through lesbianism. Marcilla lures Laura away from her fiancee Carl and plunges her fangs into the girl’s breast. As a result from the bite, Laura dies and Mircilla, now under the name Carmilla, sets her attention on Emma Morton.
Carmilla slowly sucks Emma’s life away until a doctor figures out that vampirirism is being practiced, and that Carmilla is the key to the answer. During the daylight hours, the doctor, Baron Hartog, the General and Carl discover the vampire resting in her coffin. The men take her body to a chapel where the General drives a stake through her heart. Carmilla is then be-headed and put to rest.
