This is a very incomplete list of the books I've read. I only started keeping track (at the advice of a friend) when Tony and I were in Göttingen for a year (1993). The list is intended mainly for me to remember what I've read (title and author) and (when possible) to record some impression of it. It is for the latter reason that I'm putting this on line with my other lists. Perhaps someone else might benefit from the ratings -- however brief. Most of the "no ratings" mean that I wrote down no impressions when I originally listed the book (note-- I almost always remarked when it made an especially good impression). To make it more accessable, I'm making the list alphabetical by author. I've included Swedish and German texts as well and short stories, novels, plays and poetry as well as nonfiction.
