Those Fabulous
Finn Brothers
Thanks to my husband, Tony, the brothers Finn have
provided the soundtrack to my adult life. It's been about 13 years since Tony introduced me
to the Split Enz' music. Then, we were lucky enough to see Crowded House
in Atlanta in 1987, Tim in concert the following year and Crowded House in
Germany in 1994. Then a few summers ago, in the excitement over the best of
album, I came home from vacation to catch up on a backlog of tongue in the mail
digests to discover that Crowded House was no more. The upshot was that I
read the same day that the Finn Brothers would tour the States - so just before
my birthday we got to see them in Chicago. At the "Finndy City" concert, I got
to meet several listies as well as Peter Green and Liam Finn. I must say that
the listies are great people, the fan club is in excellent hands and Neil Finn
has kids to be proud of!
In 1998 we were blessed with the release of Neil's first solo cd
Try Whistling This and not one, but two (!!) shows in Chicago. You can
check out our recollections of what we call the second Finndy City experience at
Finndy City2 index page (for the Summer show) and Finndy City2 Pt2 for the
November show (with Tim).
In honor of Tim's new cd, Say It Is So and thanks to Peter Green and the fan club we've got a new photo of Tim just for
this website. Check out the Finn Photo Album for it! We are also anxiously awaiting more from Neil. Word is
we may have his new cd sometime later this year!
