Kaaba , the sacred shrine in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, to which Muslims turn daily in prayer, and the focal point for Muslim pilgrimage. It is a cube-shaped building covered with a black cloth, embroidered in gold with Koranic quotations. In a wall of the Kaaba is embedded a sacred black stone.
