Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The statue of the staunch communist revolutionary fighter Kim Chol-ju
was erected at Kim Chol-ju Artillery General Military Academy.
Kim Chol-ju Ju was born on June 12, Juche 5 (1916) in
Mangyongdae. Receiving revolutionary education from his parents and guidance
from the President Kim Il Sung, he nurtured anti-Japanese patriotic idea and
high class awareness and grew up to be an indomitable communist revolutionary
fighter possessed of noble revolutionary spirit and virtue. He dedicated himself to the struggle to carry out the line of
armed struggle put forward by Kim Il Sung.
An unveiling ceremony was held at the academy on November 9. A wreath sent by General Secretary Kim Jong Il was laid
before the statue amid the playing of the wreath-laying music. Also placed there were wreaths and bouquets in the name of
the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces and the KPA military academies of
different levels including Kim Chol-ju Artillery General Military Academy. The participants stood in silent tribute
to Kim Chol-ju.
KPA vice Marshal Jo Myong-rok, director of the general
political department of the Korean People's Army, in his speech at the ceremony
said that though Kim Chol-ju's life was short, it was a brilliant life of
communist revolutionary fighter replete with intense loyalty to the leader and
his cause, ardent love for the country and people, indomitable revolutionary
spirit and strong will and revolutionary optimism. He called on all the servicemen to think and act in any place
and any time, guided by the idea and will of Kim Jong Il like Kim Chol-ju who
firmly and devotedly defended and carried out Kim Il Sung's revolutionary line
and fully display the revolutionary spirit of unconditionally implementing to
the last orders and instructions of Kim Jong Il.
