Ciliary Body

The ciliary body is a small tissue at the base of the iris. The ciliary body secretes the aqueous humour. The lens zonules are attached to the ciliary muscle. When the muscle contracts, the zonules are relaxed, causing the lens to thicken in the middle. This allows for fine focusing.
