Signs
Starring:
Mel Gbson', Mr Phoenix (from Gladiator), Macauly Culkins 10 year old
brother (believe it).
How
is this for a scoop - 'Signs' the hit new blockbuster starring Mel Gibson,
not even released in the UK yet, and 'Pypes of Peace vs El Jabba' has
a special review (don't ask).
In case you don't know, 'signs' in the title refers to the worldwide
phenomenon of crop circles. Now, I wont give away to much of the film,
but if you've seen he poster, which you probably have, I can tell you
that Aliens are involved. Yes - Aliens. A film about crop circles also
involves aliens - I just 'couldn't' believe it.
Anyway, on with the review (this isn't an essay is it?).Don't expect
Independence day here folks, although the film does involve the topics
discussed above (what a cop out, couldn't even be bothered to type,
copy or anything), the main story concerns the internal strife of Mel
Gibson (well, his character), this may sound absolute crap, but it adds
a new dimension to an already flooded genre of alien movies('gee', New
York times - sign me up now), instead of seeing the events of the film
unfold throughthe eyes of the world, or usually the Yankee President,
we get a closer look through the eyes of a single family, or more so
- a single man.
For me, this twist added a sharper edge to the film, providing movie
(yes, we are American) audiences with something that had not been previously
seen.
To conclude, this is a great film which is sure to be a blockbuster
hit in America, the UK and even Wales (cos we all know that Wales id
not really in the UK - don't we?, bloody third world country). I recommend
this film to anyone with a sense of dignity.
'Signs' - the Pypes of Peace review with the most over use of parenthesis
(that's text in brackets to you slick) ever.....
'Signs - 8.8/10'
