La Vida Mission Church

This is a view from the south side of the church. The church was designed to blend harmoniously with it's environment. Going across the picture and passing behind the church you can see a narrow gray strip about even with the base of the church. This is Chaco Wash which is more than one hundreds yards across. The pole structure to the right of the church is a typical construction used by the Navajo for their living quarters during the hot months of the year. The line of semi-buried tires marks the northern limit of the playground field. The dormitory would be to the immediate left in this picture and the school is directly behind the viewer of the picture.
