A fantastic armour of loosely tied plates. It resembles a
Karasu tengu, a mythical bird. |
The armour of the momoyama peroid despite the fancier
design to the right which came a little later was for the most part
practical. It was efficient simple and robust. |

Here we have a very practical, solid breast plate to
protect the samurai from the ball, arrow and sword. |

This helm was for a higher ranked leader. Not very
practicle, but it sure does make him look important. |

Momoyama Armour was by no means as colourful as the older
styles. The armour was normally laquered black or brown. |
