Post: Senior Hardware Engineer

Project : Remote Eye

Tools : MachXl and ORCAD .

Clients : Analog Devices Inc (USA),Group Sense Ltd(Hongkong)

Description : Remote eye is Analog devices’s ADSP21061 (SHARC) DSP based daughter board .Along with TMS 320C203 capable of performing following functions

The design is based on DSP ADSP21061.The application of the board is to compress Video data captured by four different sources according to the H.263 Video compression standards. 128K x 8 NOR architecture flash is used to store the program code. SDRAM of size 4M x 64 is used for video data storage. DPRAM of size 2k x 8 used for inter processor communication .The control logic required for SDRAM and DPRAM is fitted in single MACH210 making the cost involved less .

I was involved in designing the schematics and writing the equations for the PLD on the board and did the testing(debugging) of ten boards.

Project : ADSP 21065L based Telephony Development Board(TD65)

Tools : Orcad Capture ,MachXl-5.4 and VDSP Tools

Description : TD-65 is Analog devices’s ADSP21065 (SHARC) DSP based telephone line product capable of performing following functions

The design is based on DSP ADSP21065L. It controls the two AC’97 codecs, which connect to two DAA boards. Each DAA board is independent and has separate ringer connection for call indication. Also one codec has microphone and speaker connectivity for speakerphone application. 512K x 8 NAND architecture flash is used to store compressed voice message. Keypad, LCD and LEDs associated with micro-controller are used for user interface and dual port RAM is used for communication between MCU and DSP. SDRAM of size 512K x 8 x 2 is used for code as well as data storage.

I have the sole responsibility of the project, designing, schematics preparation,BOM release, netlist release,Development of Diagnostics using VDSP Tools and testing the boards.

Project : Digital Telephony Development Board for ADI , Inc.

Rev B

Tools : Orcad Capture , Verilog XL, Fpga_Shell, M1.5,

MachXL 5.4 , 218X and 8051 emulator.

Description :

DT-100-H module is a fully digital ADSP-218x based board. It is organised as a daughter board and mother board. The daughter board will have the digital telephony engine. The daughter board or the DSP module does all the DSP algorithm related functions and controls the flash interface. The mother board or MCU module consists of all analog and power circuits to achieve Digital Telephony features. The features are

This project uses the XILINX Spartan series FPGA XCS05XL for the first time in Wipro. This motherboard uses an IDMA interface between the DSP and the Host Microcontroller and supports all the 218X series of DSP’s .

My responsibilities in this project are designing, writing Behavioural and RTL Code , synthesis and testing of the board.

Project : I2C Controller On VxFone

Tools : Verilog XL, DC_Shell, Fpga_Shell, M1.5,

2106x emulator.

Description :

This is an additional feature getting added to the VxFone FPGA developed by Wipro for ADI Inc.This feature enables the programming of two I2C slave devices on the VxFone board. Previously this is used to be done through the software .To reduce the software overhead this featured now is getting implemented in Hardware.

Currently I am involved in this assignment and my responsibilities in this project are designing, writing Behavioural and RTL Code, simulation, synthesis and testing of the board.

Title : Design and Development of 8085 Microcomputer based

card reader .

Abstract : This project was undertaken in the final year as a part of my graduate study. The aim of this project was to design and implement a punched card reader.

A small hardware unit is used to input the signals to the 8085 MPU whenever a Punched card is inserted in it’s specified slot. A Timer program will be running on micro processor continuously.Whenver an interrupt is generated due to the card insertion, itdecodedes the signals and change the log in or out times of the appropriate person.Database of all the required people will be maintained.
