Beyond the specs:
Based on the car the car that holds the title as the worlds fastest road car, it is no mystery why this car's first year at the Le Mans it dominated the tracks. This car has a race tuned version of the BMW V12 in the Mclaren F1 which produces less power than the LM version due to air restrictors. Unfortunately, its power was being surpassed, so in 1997 it was revised to be more aerodynamic and given a slightly smaller engine since the rules favor engine with less than 6 liters of displacement. It still is a very good Le Mans racecar it still competes regularly in the 24 hour Le Mans races against the Porsche 911 GT-1 and the Mercedes CLK-GTR.
