Beyond the specs:
What do you get when you combine the torquey 5.4-liter Mercedes V8, the Mercedes E class sedan, and a couple of AMG modifications? Try the Mercedes E55 AMG and you will soon find out that the answer is an extraordinarily fast Mercedes Benz that can growl and rumble like a muscle car. This E class sedan has amazing acceleration (Motor Trend Magazine claims 0-60 times in 4,8sec!) for a Mercedes and it has more torque than its competitors. It has the kind of luxury expected of a Mercedes, but its does have some aspect which do not fit the common Mercedes description. This car suffers from excessive tire roar and its suspension is not to effective at smoothing out the bumps in the road, however you do get better handling for this trade off. This AMG creation will comfort you in Mercedes quality luxury which includes traction control and of course ESP (Electronic Stability Control) which will keep you from spinning or plowing (understeer) when you try to push it to its cornering limits. Just watch out when you try that, because like the BMW M5 it will suddenly break away it you are not careful. If you want the luxury and build quality of a Mercedes sedan, but also want to be able to challenge Corvettes in your sedan then is you dream car, with a big rumbling V8 to go with it.
