Fly still needs a sword. He returned to Papunika where a meeting is held in the great chapel of Papunika. They meet Leona who is at the origin of the idea. They are surprised by a whole regiment of canons that is deployed by the king of Bengana, Kurutemaka VII. The king only believes in the power of canons and neglects our friends. Fortunately for Fly, the king of Teran is also present although he has to stay in bed because of his bad health. They ask him if he knows a more powerfull sword than the victor's sword or the dragon sabre. The king doesn't know about the existance of such a sword, but he asks the voyants Nabara and Meruru who came along with him to help Fly. Meruru uses a special technique to obtain some information about the sword. When, in trance, Meruru utters the word Rankakusu, Poppu immediately feels inconvenianced. Rankakusu is his natal village, that he left to pursue the training of Aban.

Somewhere near the headquarters of Ban, Myst discovers the hiding place of Hadora. Hadora asks him to give him a last chance. He's about to transform into in a hypermalefic creature. Myst at first doesn't accept because he knows the creature can't invoke incantations. But Hadora tells him that he has resolved the problem: if he transfomrs the essence of himself into a monsters, he could be able to invoke incantations. Myst is very surprised of Hadora's determination, because this would mean he would be no longer a member of the malefic race, but a monster forever. Moreover he wouldn't be able to resurrect again with Myst's or Ban's combative spirit. Hadora knows this but he is prepared to undergo the transformation if only he will be strong enough to beat Fly. Myst impressed accepts Hadora's request to attack Papunika in his place while Hadora transforms.

The Fly team arrives in Rankakusu with Poppu's Rura. At first Poppu doesn't want to guide our friends to the shop of his father, who is an armourer. He doesn't want to meet him because his father would thrash him. But Fly, Chiu, Meruru and Fuam can convince him to help them. He guides them through the city till they arrive in a little alley. The mother of Poppu, Stenu, comes out of a house to place a herald on a wall. But she falls of her chair and Poppu runs to catch her. Stenu recognizes Poppu, they are both in tears. Suddenly the door of the house opens and Poppu's father, Jank. At first Poppu is frightened, but when his father utters his name Poppu regains some serenity. But then his father grabs him and throws away and begins to thrash him, saying he's attitude of coming back this way after so much time, leaving his parents anxious and worrying all the time, is indignant.

Finally Fly and co can enter Poppu's home. Jank is ashamed, he didn't know there were visitors. Jank doesn't know about the existance of a strong sword for Fly. He invites our friends to take a look in his shop. But the weapon they need isn't there. Suddenly Fly notices a sword that has something different from the others. He asks Jank were it comes from. Jank answers he sometimes receives special commands for stronger weapons, he then leaves them for a friend living in the forrest near the village. Poppu asks the name of the armourer. His name is Ron Berku. Poppu is surprised, it is the same person that has made the armours of Hyunkel and Rafaruto. They ask Jank to guide them to Ron's home. When they arrive at his home, he seems to be absent. But he soon comes out of the bushes surrounding his house, drinking a bottle of alcohol. He's not really delighted seeing that Jank didn't come alone. Jank asks Ron to listen to Fly's request. Our friends tell they need the strongest sword in the world to fight the armies of Ban. Ron refuses!! He doesn't want to forge weapons with all his soul anymore. The weapons he forged for Jank, where made with no spirit as if he was somnolent.

Poppu asks Ron, being a member of the malefic race, if he's collaborating with Ban. Ron answers that a forger doesn't collaborate, the only thing he's interested in is to know the strength his weapon will develop. Ron asks them to leave his hut. Our friends are desperate, where will they find a sword powerfull enough to fight the dragon sabre. When Ron hears about the sabre he just jumps out of his chair and asks Fly if he did fight against the sabre. Fly nods. Ron asks the result of the battle. Fly answers that he broke his enemy's weapon but that his own sword desintegrated. Ron is boiling of excitement. Fly did break the dragon sabre with one of his own swords that was forged in a metal of inferior quality than of the sabre. He now agrees to forge Fly's sword. Our friends are enchanted. But there is still one problem... Ron will forge the sword only if they have the same metal as that of the sabre, that is oriharukon. But our friends have none. But suddnely Poppu reminds Fly that the king of Romusu gave him a crown to reward Fly for his courage. The crown is in fact made of oriharukon!!!

Fly and Poppu get to Demurin with Rura and take the crown. When they turn back Meruru has a vision, Papunika is being attacked by a gigantic moving fortress. In fact it is Myst who asked the permission of Ban to use his fortress to attack Papunika. The army of Bengana tries to riposte with their canons but in vain. They only manage to uncover the higher part of the fortress and in this way they discover the true nature of the fortress of Ban. It is also armed with canons.

Hurry disciples of Aban, or Papunika will be completely pulverized!!!!
