Hyunkel is wondering why Kilvan disappeared, his trap didn't work?
But Poppu is getting weaker and shouts that he won't resist for long. Leona tries Hyadaruko but it doesn't work. Hyunkel decides to use Grand Cross, but it doesn't work too! Hyunkel understands that Kilvan left because he's sure his trap will work! Poppu thinks there is nothing to do anymore and wants to give up. But Hadora encourages them. Poppu astonished by Hadora, decides to persist, and suddenly has a idea. Medoroa!! Medoroa should be strong enough to make a hole in the flames above them to have a few seconds to flee. Fly could invoke Rura, and Poppu will quickly take Fly's leg to fly away with him. Hadora tells them to do it and helps them to stop the flames while Poppu invokes Medoroa. Medoroa works and Fly invokes Rura. But when Fly arrives out of the trap, Poppu is not with him!
Poppu stayed with Hadora in the trap, he has not enough energy anymore to flee. Hadora covers Poppu's body to protect him from the flames and asks why he didn't flee. Poppu says he couldn't leave Hadora alone. After all Hadora made great efforts to rivalize with them. In which points should he be different than Poppu? At the moment Hadora helped them, Poppu considered Hadora as a compagnon who helped them in their fight against Ban. Hadora is profoundly touched by Poppu's words and cries. Hadora prays the human gods to spare the life of this remarkable human!
But Kill trap is entering it's last fase and the flames are going to return to the malefic world, carbonizing Hadora and Poppu. Kilvan and Piroro are having a drink on their victory, when suddenly a flash destroys the trap of Kilvan! "I forbid you to go any further Poppu! Even if you go there, I won't be there anyway!"
It can't be! Is he the man who meant so much to our friends? The man appearing now, is he real or just another trap of Kilvan or Saboera? Our friends just can't believe their eyes, the man walking, toward Hadora and Poppu is no one else but: ABAN!!!!!
Aban walks towards Hadora and asks Poppu to wait a second. Aban thanks Hadora for what he did to save his disciples. But Hadora reacts strangely and puts out his claws. Everybody thinks Hadora wants to kill Aban, but he punches in the emptiness. But suddenly Kilvan appears, his heart perfored by Hadora. Hadora knew Kilvan was attempting to kill Aban. Aban thanks Hadora again, but Hadora tells him to help Fly to beat Ban. He then tells to Poppu that the human gods are marvellous. In change of his life they gave the life Hadora had taken from them! Moreover they made me die into the arms of that remarkable man! Hadora vanishes in smoke in the arms of Aban.
Aban takes Poppu in his arms, but Poppu doesn't believe it is Aban, he thinks it's Saboera who's doing another of his craven tricks. But Leona reminds Aban and Poppu are staying in the magic pentagon, created by Aban to annihilate Kill trap. And no one can take another appearance in this pentagon. Poppu bursts into tears. "Yeah, indeed I'm not a ghost or a trick, I'm the real Aban!"
Everyone jumps to Aban's neck crying like children except for Leona and Hyunkel. Hyunkel is crying though, but he prefers to stay aside. Leona explains to Aban that she has been chosen by Flora to wear a talisman. Aban is happy to see that Leona has joined the battle, but also that Hyunkel has joined them. But the others are a bit angry because they think Aban deliberately let them think he was dead. Aban feels some danger and asks his disciples to immediately run to the central tower, without explaining the reason. But he explains he came with the same purpose as them, eliminate Ban.
Everybody runs to the central tower. Aban is attacked by Kilvan. Kilvan explains it's not sufficiant to perfore his heart to beat him. He holds his scythe under Aban's throat. Aban asks Kilvan if the traps he put down around the castle are controlled by his magic power. Kilvan curses Aban, because Aban is keeping him busy while his disciples are passing all the traps without danger. He wants to finish Aban quickly to activate his traps, but can't move. He notices a feather in his chest that paralyzes him. Aban asks Kilvan how it feels to be under the effect of a trap controlled by incantation. Aban cuts Kilvan's mask in two parts. Kilvan disappears but swears to take revenge and kill Aban!
Our friends arrived at the central tower and contemplate it when suddenly:"WHAAAA, it's gigantic!" Aban appears behind them. They ask him where he was and Aban explains he followed them the whole time. But Hyunkel knows this isn't true. Hyunkel says he doesn't want to fight with Aban because he's too weak. Our friends are shocked, Hyunkel explains Aban didn't follow the same trainings as them, didn't fight the enemies they encountered. He must be as weak as when he lost against Hadora! Aban admits his combative spirit is not even worth the half of Fly's power. But... Hyunkel looks in Aban's eyes. Aban decides to respect Hyunkel's will and asks everybody to follow him. Fuam doesn't understand Hyunkel said this without a good reason. Aban says it's indeed true, Hyunkel will be under assault of hundreds of monsters!
A bunch of monsters from the malefic world appear out of the windows of the Ban palace. Aban explains that Hyunkel observed the tactic rule Aban learned him. When a fortress is taken under assault the danger is to be attacked in the back, while you're concentrated on the front. That's why there has to be someone to protect the back. Aban wanted to do this, that's why he took care of Kilvan and appeared near his friends with Lilirura. Hyunkel understood what Aban's real capacities were. Aban, Fly, Leona, Poppu, Fuam and Gome arrive at a great door, the same that Fly and his father destroyed when they entered the Ban palace for the first time! Aban asks his disciples to let him do. He explains how he survived to Megante:
Normally nobody can survive to Megante, but something protected Aban. It was the amulet of Karu he received from Flora. When Aban regained consciousness, he was floating in the sea surrounding Demurin. The amulet was partly broken. Aban then swam to the isle and saw Poppu and Fly leave Demurin in a little boat. He could have appeared but he prefered that they went on adventure alone. Moreover he already realized Fly had more capacities than him. Aban was also a bit ashamed to show himself in the miserable state he was at that moment. He decided to train alot to equal Fly's level. That's why he decided to perfect his magic in the caves of Haja! When he heard that Leona discovered Minakator in the upper levels of the layrinth, he knew the final battle was nearing and decided to return at the surface.
Aban asks Leona at which level they arrived. Leona answers -25 and asks in return where Aban arrived. -150!!! Poppu rejoices, the incantation Aban found must be six times stronger then! But Aban explains this computation is a little bit too easy. In fact there were no incantations anymore from level -50. The labyrinth was getting more and more difficult and there were more and more traps. What Aban found is more a technique: The secret technique of Haja!!!
Aban prepares five feathers and forms the magic pentagon. The technique of Haja intensifies the power of incantations. To save Poppu he used Toramana, but amplified the incantation. Now he will use the incantation to open doors: ABAGAMU!! The feathers are projected on the door and the latter slightly opens for our friends. They penetrate the Ban palace, but Aban bends towards Hyunkel first and then follows the others.
Hyunkel decides to use Grand Cross against the monsters!
