Calpe, Costa Blanca, Spain
This is all that remains of the military architecture of the
inner town, dating from the end of the XIV century or the beginning of the XV century,
reinforced in the XVIII century by order of Philip III. In 1947 the Town Hall undertook the knocking down of "La Peça" uncovering the Tower, the existence of which was unknown. The base is a cone-like construction and the upper part is cylindrical. Materials used for its construction were stone and mortar. In 1981 the Torreó and the walls were restored to their present form. |
