Time Sharing - Holiday ownership.

What's this ?

In a few words. You buy a period of time, mostly 1 or more weeks. These weeks have a number, the same as the weeks in a year. For example, week 27 is the first week of July, week 28 is the second week of July and so on. These weeks are always, during the existence of the resort, mostly 75 years, available every year at that resort where you bought the week(s). So every year you can go on holiday to that resort at that time, see the week number. Every year you have to pay the maintenance cost / week.

When you want to go to another place or resort, you can make an exchange of weeks to another resort. This is done by another company. Here comes the name of "Time Sharing" = exchange of time. In my case the company is RCI. Here you pay a fee for administration / week for the exchange.

Due to aggressive salesmen in the system the name is changing from "Time Sharing" to "Holiday Ownership" because time sharing has a bad name. The system is OK but the sales are very aggressive, mostly made by other companies.

With buying a week in a resort you can travel all over the world.

The most important thing is that you buy the week in the resort you like. So if you don't make an exchange, not required, you can go to your own resort.

Important is that you pay a fair price for the weeks. The salesmen have to earn their money with the sales they can make. So be alert. Discounts of 30 % are possible. Try to buy at the promoter, the building company.

Also buy the week(s) that you can come in your own holiday. No exchange in week number. You have white, blue and red weeks. Red weeks are the most expensive, high season.

I have some weeks at the resort in Calpe Spain, Imperial Park Country Club. The promoter wants to have the best resort of the Costa Blanca, Spain. Until now, it looks nice and very promising.
