The second tank was intended from the start to be a place
where the very small fish can swim freely throughout the
whole volume. No fish exceeds about 7 cm, and that's a
darter or two. A crayfish about 7 cm long is about to be
banished to an outdoor pond, probably after its next molt.
Update Jan 17, 2000: The crayfish remains peaceable, and
is still present, as is one of equal size in the "first" tank.
Both are now some 12 or 13 cm long now, maybe 5 inches. They
don't threaten the fish at all.
