
Just for one recent important thing... you may have had some
thoughts about last week's events in Seattle at the WTO gathering.
Among all the voices expressing serious concerns about the WTO and
its schemes, maybe one of them rang a bell with you. Maybe you think
you should be informed on the label of food you buy about any
genetically altered material, or antibiotics, or hormones...
Maybe you don't think a corporation should be able to get a patent on
a plant variety cultivated for centuries by farmers, then make those
farmers pay to grow their grandfather's beans, or rice, or ...
Maybe you don't think a corporation should be able to get a patent on
the DNA of your own inheritance. (do these things sound unreal?
check it out. Monsanto and the gang are doing or attempting to do
all of these shenanigans, and more.)
It seems to me that people ought to follow these things, trying to
get information from a variety of sources, and where their lives are
being impacted, ought to contact their elected representatives.
The people who represent you need to hear from you, otherwise they
will only have the loud voices of the corporate lobbyists to inform
their actions.
