An Evening of One Acts: Branch River Theatre begins its 2002-03 season with two one-act plays entitled “The Typists” by Murray Schisgal and “Chamber Music” by Arthur Kopit.  “The Typists” conveys the very ordinary lives of a man and woman working together in close proximity over a 30-year span. “Chamber Music” is a dark comedy/thriller in which the female inmates of a mental institution interact with one another in accordance with their assumed identities. $8 adults, $5 children/ seniors. On the Outskirts of Everything: Seven-character show about men struggling to contend with love, fame, illness, family, and corporate America. Men, Women, and all that nonsense!: Acting-on-Impulse presents this work-in-progress written and performed by Thomas Griffin. In a series of semi-autobiographical sketches, actor/writer Griffin invites the audiences into the sometimes funny, sometimes poignant world of fathers, ex-spouses, lovers, men, and sons. NOTE: Due to the subject matter, the show is not suitable for young children. Benefit to fund uninsured medical expenses for Thomas’s recovery from CFIDS. 8 p.m. In lieu of tickets, donations will be gratefully accepted at the door. Dracula: The Country Players presenting John Mattera’s adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic tale of horror. Rough Crossing: It’s 1930 aboard an ocean liner crossing the Atlantic, and the writers and actors must have a new show to take Broadway by storm upon their arrival.
